Freeride Extreme - Exploding Celeste problems

I seem to have a problem that the car explodes no matter what i do. I've read a bit online a come to the conclusion that its my FPS rate. Its too high. I've tried fraps and recording at max quality and max FPS and my computer still runs the game smoothly. I need to get my FPS down in order to complete this mission.

Anyone got any tips?

You can use FRAPS to cap the framerate; set it to around 10 - 15, you should be able to complete the mission.
