Anyone else find the game difficult?

It feels like the AI attacks me the millisecond I peak around a corner, I've been one shot a couple times and I've been running out of resources a lot of the time... Is there some method to the combat I am missing?

Maybe adjust the difficulty of the game. If it is your first time playing Bioshock, it's understandable. Make sure to explore every possible space for resources, hack every machine, turret and camera, and make sure to upgrade plasmids and your overall health and eve. Also remember to use a combination of plasmids and weapons in combat, and remember to check your ammo regularly to make sure the weapon you want to use is loaded and ready when entering a room or new area. Sorry if that didn't help.

The AI in this game is pretty good and they will wreck you instantly sometimes if you're not careful, you have to move around and jump A LOT when you fight. I pretty much had to hop around and abuse the electricity plasmids or different types of weapon rounds when I played through the game on hard

Thanks for your replies, after I acquired several weapons the game became much easier. Still playing on hard difficulty but having a much better experience. Appreciate the input.

remember your 1-2 combo! works with alot of things, stun then damage.

I quite like the freeze, shotgun blast ammo combo.

Also hack everything, unless your absolutely terrible at the minigame hack everything, you get more than enough autohacks and cash to skip the difficult ones anyway.

Spam photos, you will not run out of film in the mid to late game, its friggin everywhere and drops from cameras.

the normal machine gun ammo is by far the worst damage in the game worse even than the pistol and u get tonnes of it. good for tagging enemies, so your allies(robots ect..) attack them but not much else.

do the main objective last. if you really wanna min max loot every room and and save/harvest every sister before moving on with the story.

Try to use the resource you have most of, you can only carry so much.if you have more ev than hp kits than prioritize using ranged plazmids rather than running at them with a wrench.

IMO the damage over time plasmids are pretty much useless (ignite and another 1 or 2 lateron) For the same ev cost you could just stun them and one shot them with the wrench.

and either harvest all the sisters or save all the sisters, no one likes a fence sitter.

I originally played Bioshock on the Xbox360. The PC version does seem a bit more difficult (and a bit different than i remember). I am playing on Medium (norm?) difficulty. It's challenging, but I'm making progress. Fighting big daddys I think is the most difficult.

The remaster changes a few things, nothing significant tho. It might be the keyboard/mouse your having trouble with. Yu could try playing with a controller.

Depending on the difficult selected the game is pretty easy, because even dying you can respawn on vita chambers and the life of your remaining enemies will not be recovered!!
