I am about done with this industry. If you want a developer that listens to you, interacts with you and supports you.


We've been around every single day for 3-4 years. You know exactly what we do, how we do it and how we invest in our communities and products.

However, if you want a developer that abuses you, rapes your wallet with annual $60 rehashes, DLC, $15 map packs and other disastrous efforts like invalid and illegal DMCA takedowns, by all means let them continue to ruin the gaming industry.

Either way, the future of Orion is up to you. We've fought this war long enough and now it's time for you to voice what you want going forward.

LONG STORY SHORT

Activision never specified what assets of ours offended them or their company. They didn't specify this for the DMCA that took down the game, they haven't specified it in our follow up information.

What they have specified is that "if we remove offensive content they are no problem with us selling the game". The problem is they won't provide that information for us to remedy.

From the beginning we've offered to resolve, remake or remove any offensive piece of content as long as we were told what this was.

The problem is much larger than whether or not you love me and Orion or hate us. The fact is that a massive company illegally used a DMCA request to take down something with no specific information, maliciously during the biggest sale event of the year. They are not providing an opportunity of recourse and are significantly damaging us.

We've always stated we are open to feedback. We've stated many things and lived up to them. We are around 24 hours, working day after day for years. It is not hard to find us and contact us about problems you have.

They've affected the majority of profits. I use the Summer Sale to forecast/cover anywhere from 12-24 months. What would have been made this event could have/likely would have lasted us until Dec 2017.

The industry and what you want from it, whether Developer-to-Community relations, or how companies go about shady situations like this - is fully up to the players.

I've worked for 20 years to get to this game and deliver this experience. I've been fighting for the last five. I am getting to old for this crap and there is no way I'll be spending the next years doing the same. If you are a fan of Orion, a fan of what we stand for, how we treat our fans or our games or what we hope to do for the industry, support it now or forever deal with malicious tactics like that leading the way.

David, you have done all that you can. The chances that Activision will do anything isn't high. Although you guys are hit hard by this, stand up higher. I know you guys can do this. You have been doing this for years, and that shows some major dedication. Remember that there are people here for you guys. You have done all you can and if anything i suggest taking a couple days break to just try to enjoy yourself and get away. I understand you guys are hit hard by this and it is unfair, but it will be done shortly, and everyone will find a new ordeal to talk about on the internet. I hope that you continue what you love doing, and you even said yourself, this has to potential to be one of the greatest new games of our generation, so why let one setback completely stop you? Please keep going if not for your loving players now, than for the future millions that will enjoy this game <3.

The sooner that you can speak with a human and get the information you require to resolve the problem the better. Plenty of reddit threads outline the weapons and helmets with stolen assets, as well as the history of stolen assets and releasing an edited game and calling it a "new game".
