insane frame drops that kill my experience
i'm having insane frame drops every time the game enters a new area that wasn't on my screen for a while. it's not that the fps is constantly low, it's fine, actually. it's just those frame drops that are really getting to me.

I'm using a gtx 1070, and i already switched to alower esolution, but the game just cant help itself, anyone able to resolve this?

I have the same issue. Seems to be a problem by the game itself or it's about the engine. No solution so far.

I've noticed that when the game zooms in for the over-the-shoulder view (for example when HOB enters a new area or something) the game CHUGS.

It's so weird.

I'm having frame drops as well. Very bloody annoying and is ruining my enjoyment of the game.

My specs:

Intel i7 6700K@4.5
GTX 1080
16GB RAM
1TB SSD
and 1440p 165Hz GSYNC screen.

DSR is definately OFF. I'd have no reason to use it with a GSYNC screen anyway lol Hoping this is fixed ASAP or will be refunding.

I have the same i have faith in devs that they fix it my fps is quite high to begin with, i expect my fps to remain stable above 120 once stuttering is fixed anyway probably even 165 fps considering when i have no stuttering my fps is constant at 165 due gsync + vsync

Similar hardware as yours, they say'd the next patch should adress performance issues, they just did a patch today for crashes.

Btw outdoor seems the worst especially after 10 minutes, as if there a leak somewhere that is causing the stuttering.

I have gog version from this game and I have same fps issues. I think this is game problem and not hw problem. Gtx 1070, i7 4770, 16 GB ram, ssd, Win 7

I wonder if this is a problem unique to newer NVIDIA cards? It ran smoothly for me last night on GTX 970, i7 4790, 16GB ram, Win 8.1. Not that the GTX 970 is ancient but it was more considered top of the line when I got my Asus gaming PC in 2015.

If someone can post a gameplay video showing the stuttering or frame rate drops, it might help them to see what's going on.

We are working with Nvidia to resolve some of the issues people are running into with performance. In the meantime, can you try disabling DSR (if enabled) from the Nvidia Control Panel and let me know if that makes a difference for you? We've noted that appears to have a major affect on performance.

And if you're on a system with multiple graphics devices, try this... https://support.runicgames.com/kb/articles/mobile-gpu-troubleshooting

I don't have insane drops on my R9 380X, but occasional stutter here and there, playing on high settings. It is pretty obnoxious, hope there is some patches soon that resolve this issue.
AMD A10-5800K
8 GB of Ram.

I don't have DSR enabled. I think this is off by default anyway when the drivers are installed.

Same issue, everytime a new area loads, animals load, triggering checkpoints, or all of the above, I get 5 to 15 dropped frames. Its ruining the game, I think Im just going to refund.

Not using DSR
