  • Pathfinding with M/K can cause problems at some corners or obstacles. (rare)
  • Some Spanish Loca-related issues: German shows up in other sidequest-log.
  • When you cant move or got stuck in motion, open inventory and close. Hard to find this issue in the code. (super-rare)

When using Windows 8/10
First of all we recommend running the game as admin user (even though you are only having one administrator Windows User account running on your machine).

Integrated Intel HD Graphics and a dedicated graphic cards
Disclaimer:
Please be aware that Vikings - Wolves of Midgard does not support integrated graphic chips of any kind.

When using a laptop with an integrated graphic chip, it might be the case that by default this chip will be used, instead of the dedicated graphic cards, which may impact the performance of a game.
You can easily change this by doing the following:
- First of all make sure you are running the latest graphic card drivers. So update the graphic card driver from the link below.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us
- When done, change the settings as described below:
1. Open your Nvidia Control Panel (right-click on desktop, select Nvidia Control Panel)
2. Select "Manage 3D settings"
3. Select "Global Settings". You will find the option "Preferred graphics processor". Please select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and save the settings.
4. You will have to reboot your system for the changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting via Steam

  • Right-click on your game
  • Select 'Properties'
  • Select 'Check Integrity of Game Cache' from the 'Local Files' tab (Please Note that this might take several minutes)

Problems playing Vikings - Wolves of Midgard 2-Player Coop
When playing Coop, please make sure you that there is nothing restricting or even fully blocking your connection.
So please have a look and check following:
  • Check, if you have a stable internet connection. If you are using WiFi, use a wired/cable connection, if possible, to prevent any interruptions.
  • Make sure you have enough bandwidth available. So disabling all downloads, streams, closing all tabs in your browser is recommended.
  • Check, if Steam and Vikings - Wolves of Midgard is not being restricted/blocked by your Anti-Virus program. Simply set exceptions for both applications.
  • Check your Firewall/s (Router, Windows Firewall, additional Firewall, e.g. Norton) if exception are set for Steam and Vikings - Wolves of Midgard in addition.
  • There are no specific ports needed to be enabled manually in your router. Nevertheless if your Router features the option “UPnP”, we would recommend to enable this otion, as it simply enables programs, such as Games in general, which are using multiplayer, to open the ports needed on their own, without opening up huge ranges of ports. This also applies and is recommended for console-players.

Additionally: Please be aware, players joining a coop-game will keep their loot and character-progress, but will not keep the playthrough-progress.
Nevertheless your character-progression (loot, blood, level, crafting materials) will be kept and can also been used in your singleplayer campaign.
This is no savegame-problem, but intended.

Hi everybody.
As some of yuo are experiencing difficulties connecting properly to multiplayer, please have alook into this list and check/try accordingly:
  • First of all, we recommend running the game as admin user (even though you are only having one administrator Windows User account running on your machine).
    - To do so, right-click on the game .exe (by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vikings - Wolves of Midgard) and/or shortcut and select the checkbox “Run as administrator”.
    - Click on "OK" to apply the changes and start the game with double click on the game’s .exe.
  • Check, if Steam and Vikings - Wolves of Midgard is not being restricted/blocked by your Anti-Virus program, such as e.g. Zonealarm. Simply set exceptions for both applications.
  • Check your Firewall/s (Router, Windows Firewall, additional Firewall, e.g. Norton) if exception are set for Steam and Vikings - Wolves of Midgard in addition.
  • Enable port 7777 if you can in your Router. Additionally, if your Router features the option “UPnP”, we would recommend to enable this otion, as it simply enables programs, such as Games in general, which are using multiplayer, to open the ports needed on their own, without opening up huge ranges of ports. This also applies and is recommended for console-players.
  • Also be aware that both players should check on the above listed, before getting to following steps.
  • Now do the following when playing multiplayer with a friend step-by-step:
    1. Start the game (your friend, too)

UPDATE:
We also had some problems with our matchmaking servers.
We have restarted those, so please have a try again and check if you are still having problems with connecting/creating coop-games.
-cheers

Please reinstall the game or install MS Visual Studio Redistributable 2012 if you can't click on the multiplayer button in main menu or change your character properly in the character creation menu.
Please excuse the inconveniences.
