- Certainty of ability to host game:
And other aspects you find relevant to your game-finding experience.

"Dedication to a long-term game" spanning from 12 hours to 24 to 46 and beyond over multiple sessions: are you willing to commit? Many folks really want stable and reliable partners for the best AI War experience instead of those who will start a game, but will decide to drop out sooner than preferred.

"Certainty of ability to host game"; are you 100% certain someone else can connect to your AI War game, or do you need Hamachi, Tunngle, or other virtual private networks (VPN)? Keep in mind only the host needs to ensure ports have been forwarded; if those are open, then those who don't have ports open can probably join without issue. All players must use the same UDP port in their networking options menu ingame; the default is 32320. Those using a VPN in most cases will not be required to port forward, although in some instances it may still not work. You should try alternating hosts and ensuring there are no connection errors indicated by the VPN interface in such cases, and while bloaty, Tunngle seems to work for many cases where Hamachi has failed.

Please check this forum topic[www.arcengames.com] if you are wondering why the game does not have an in-game matchmaking service; it also includes more ways of finding other people to organize games.

- Country/timezone: USA/EST
- Time availability: Most afternoons and evenings
- Expansions: The first 3
- Dedication to a long-term game: I'm willing to play one, but my schedule can be crazy so it might be hard to set up multiple sessions.
- Certainty of ability to host game: Probably can't (4 GB RAM and 15/1 Mbs connection)

I'm still a noob and I would prefer to play other noobs, or experienced players who have patience.

- Time availability: Entire weekends and evenings on weekdays
- Expansions: All
- Dedication to a long-term game: No problem if over multiple sessions,if you want me too play 8 hours straight it might be quite a challenge
- Certainty of ability to host game: Nope, maybe over tunngle or hamachi but even there i had problems.

jhgt2d Feb 7 @ 2:16am
- Country/timezone: USA CST

- Time availability: Most nights after 6 PM CST

- Expansions: All

- Dedication to a long-term game: Not an issue. I have spent 30+ hours on the 2 games I have completed so far

- Certainty of ability to host game: Have hosted via Tunngle

Still new to the game even after 130 hours of game play so dont expect me to be perfect or know everything. I usually dont enjoy games where the players pause to micro all the time.

Add me on steam if you want another person to play with.

Beta patches only

- Country/timezone:
USA, CST (UTC-6)

- Time availability:
mornings 0700-1200

- Expansions:
all plus beta patches

- Dedication to a long-term game:
If I lacked dedication I wouldn't be on the forums looking for a MP game.

- Certainty of ability to host game:
I think that I set up my ports at some point in the past, but I'd rather not have to doublecheck my work on that if I can weasel my way out of it.

And other aspects you find relevant to your game-finding experience.
one victory on diff. 7 against 2 ais using a method that no longer works. Expert at early/mid game, need work on endgame tactics (thus seeking others intending on them taking point at that time)

game options on difficulties I am pretty flexible (nothing below 7 though), I will play against any AI type including technologists

Again, I run the beta updated version of the game and shall continue to do so until 8.0 is live, so if it is not a beta patched game I will not seek involvement.
Aarki Jul 2 @ 8:24am
- Country/timezone: GMT + 1-2

- Time availability: Every late afternoon - open end

- Expansions: All

- Dedication to a long-term game: Depends on the game and the people I play with. I wouldn't want to repeatedly, constantly save-scum out of a lost situation but otherwise it's fine to play on.

- Certainty of ability to host game: I have Tunngle and Hamachi, as well as open ports, yet I can't host properly because of my crappy bamboo connection.
nchar95 Jul 19 @ 3:47am
- Country/timezone: UK GMT
- Time availability: midday-midnight, not all the time but between those :P
- Expansions: all
- Dedication to a long-term game: looking at maybe max 4 hours per day, so should be finished within 3-4
- Certainty of ability to host game: tried and tested, fine
Note- Playstyle: I'm quite a noob having only played difficulty 6 matches (though those were solo, so i guess it evens out)
I like a fastpaced match which may come across as reckless, could be a good combo if i was joined by a semi-turtle/economy focused player. Due to low players this isn't a requirement :D
hope to see you out there soon.

SkitzoBunny Jul 23 @ 9:52pm
- Country/timezone: US/PST
- Time availability: Generally 6pm-10pm 1 to 2 days per week, maybe more
- Expansions: All
- Dedication to a long-term game: Absolutely. When a game is in progress I prefer more than 1 day per week.
- Certainty of ability to host game: Almost certainly. I have port forwarding set up and can host this game with another player(already tested)
I'd like to experiment with AI plots and other lesser used options just for fun and to get those acheivements!

Adam Aug 5 @ 6:42pm
- Country/timezone: US/Pacific (GMT-8/7)
- Time: My hours are flexible, so any time 10AM-2AM (with notice)
- Expansions: I have all of them, but I've only played the base game so far!
- Dedication to a long-term game: I can commit to a 20-30 hour campaign. More if it's still fun at the end of that. I'd prefer at least twice per week, but once per week is acceptable.
- Certainly of ability to host: 95%. I have hosted in the past without trouble, but I've moved since then.

Broken Heart Aug 13 @ 10:21pm
I just started playing. Haven't beat a single AI lvl 7 yet.
- Country/timezone: USA PST
- Time availability: Generally 6pm-11pm per week, most of the saturday
- Expansions: All
- Dedication to a long-term game: Yes
- Certainty of ability to host game: Don't know..Port forwarding is pain to setup without access to wifi router

I have not played a co-op game in AI war before, and my first relatively successful playthrough (against lvl6 AI) is close to winning using the "fallen spire" expansion campaign, so I'm not terribly inexperienced but neither do I have very much experience.

Country/timezone: Sweden, UTC +1

Time availability: Commonly most of the day on saturday and sunday, other days vary due to inconsistant school schedule.

Expansions: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. (The sixth came out a couple'a days ago, don't have that so far.)

Dedication to a long-term game: Won't stay up all night due to school, so one-go long games are often problematic, but save-load long games are viable.

Cartainty of ability to host game: Unable to. After several tries in different games I still find myself unsucessful in almost all circumstances, so no, I won't be able to be the host.
Notion: I don't use hamachi or other similar software when it comes to hosting, so if connecting requires any such software I wouldn't be able to join it. I am well aware that you can direct connect in this game, but some people elect to use Hamachi or similar things instead.

My playstyle: I am more of a turtle and economy player than most, electing to focus on defence and durability rather than rush all-in towards a quick win. This often results in me staying alive for a long time, before inevitably facing a gruesome death to the AI progress buildup.
Due to this, I believe I would be more suitable for a supportive role, providing both a barricade against advancing AI forces and a safe haven for assault fleets which need to resupply, repair or await reinforcements.
