Have a bug, can't progress

I'm at the part at Oleg's house where you have to get the phone from the tree. I know how, but when I try, she walks over to the tree and then disappears and nothing happens until I double click on some exit to change screens. I cannot get the phone. Why is this happening?

Nvm. Ran in compatibility mode for XP service pack 2 and ran as admin and it now works fine.

It happens to me too. Run under XPsp3 compatibility mode and it seems fine.

Happens to me and I'm on win 7 64 bit. Running combatability doesn't help.

I had the same problem, but I have found a solution.

For me it worked like this:
1. Go to the point where Nina disappears
2. Now leave the game and create an autosave
3. Now load the autosave
4. Nina should now be back and you can take the phone

i tried these steps and having the same issue and running the same as spacecookie
every time i click on the tree with or without the back nina poofs. what else can i do?

I was having the same problem and the above solution worked perfectly. After you disappear you just gotta save and load and then hey waddyaknow you're back! Thanks @Grizzlybeere
