Why do I have 507 hours?
I bought this game on a whim over a year ago because it was on sale for like $2. I played like an hour and a half and got bored. Why does Steam say I have 507 hours? I have friends asking me how to do this or that because they think I'm a veteran, when really I have no idea what this game is about.

I'm not kidding, you guys. I legitimately have no idea how to play Garry's Mod. Haven't played since I bought it. Isn't it about spawning in stuff and screwing around with stuff that other people built? I wouldn't make this post if I actually have played 500+ hours. I made this post to get answers as to why Steam thinks I have 500+ hours.

I ran the numbers, if that playtime is accurate and you have played over exactly 6 years, that would mean you spent, on average, 24.53% of every day for the last 6 years playing. That's 5.89 hours every day (on average). Obviously, you may have played more some days and none other days, but this is a ballpark estimate. And I must say, I admire your sheer dedication there. But I still don't know how to play Garry's Mod. I have 1.5 hours of gameplay, Steam just for some reason broke.

Doesn't matter how high-profile or special you are. Some hackers just wanna mess your day up.

Maybe you used a program called "steam time idler"?
