I think Garry is still developing this

If you right click garry's mod > Go to properties > Then click the betas tab there is a dev branch for the next update. I don't know why everyone thinks garry :D has stopped working on this, why would we have that dev branch if he stopped work on it.

He HAS stopped working on it. Development itself hasn't ceased, but Garry's diverted most of his attention to Rust and handed development for Garry's Mod over to Kilburn_ and Robotboy from Facepunch.

Nah. He is hardly working on Rust, he has no reason to continue on developing GMod, but there are guys still working on it which is awesome :-))

Rust will never be finished in Garry's eyes... Hopefully he can make the world bigger and make it so that it is not a nudist simulator with people beating eachother with giant rocks.

I meant it like he will make a finished version of Rust someday (the version after Beta, IIRC they call it Gold Master) and then it's up to him if he will keep updating it or move onto something new... like he did it with GMod.

Anyone else waiting for Garry's Mod on Source 2 engine? I can't wait just because of the possibilities it could give to PulsarEffect script roleplay servers. And other RP - possibly hundreds of players at the same time and huge maps.

Make it a different game/entry at least, like there are separate entries for "Left 4 Dead 2 Beta" and "Dota 2 Test".

You mean the opt-in for the main game or the separate entry in the game library? If the second, then yes, shouldn't be too hard to add another entry like "Garry's Mod <insert_whatever_the_next_version_number_would_be_here>"
