In the Glados fight noclip until you find a big chamber in there there is the cake and the companion cube.

At the end of the game, the Party Escort Bot drags Chell/the player into a room, where there is a cake in the center (a Black Forest Cake from a bakery near the Valve offices, BTW. :)) and several cores light up. The companion cube is also there for the party. Therefore, the cake is not a lie.

Differently from what is stated below, I believe Chell is not dragged anywhere at the end of the first Portal. From my perspective, she fought for her freedom and bet the machine. Nonethless, it still lives and made a cake for the sake of doing it so. Do not know yet how she came back to the lab on the sequel after all the climax though as I still haven't played it.
