Is It Possible?

I'm trying to play Portal on my new iMac with new type Mac Bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth trackpad. Is it possible to win with this set-up? I've made it to level 15, but when I get to the point where I have to shoot to create a portal while I'm dropping out of another portal, I never seem to be pointing in the right direction, no matter how I orient myself prior to dropping. Is it merely lack of dexterity on my part, or do these tools I'm using just not make it possible? (I know...it's a poor carpenter who blames his tools, but...I guess my question is whether I need to invest in some new type of "joy stick"?)
