Hey everyone. Portal switching to dx8 by default (which is fixed by adding -dxlevel 90 to a command line) and resets settings every time after launch. what to do? it kinda bugs me

Does is stay in dx9 if you take out -dxlevel 90? The line itself is the cause of it resetting in-game video settings.Try leaving -dxlevel 90, if it doesn't stay in dx9 try using +mat_level 92 then taking that out after an initial launch. If nothing sticks your only other option is to probably look up all video setting options through command line startup options.

Is your computer a DX9 or DX10 version?
