So, I'm just before it's purchase, and I want to make sure: The storycontinues, right? I buy this, play it, and then I go for the sequel.
My point is, Portal 2, is not like, let's say, Counter Strike, where you can buy the last one and have the same experience with better graphics.

It's also worth noting that Portal 2 singleplayer campaign is roughly 3 times longer than the first game.

Play Portal 1, read Lab Rat, then play Portal 2. The storyline will make much more sense that way, and it'll be easier to piece together the non-essential parts of the story, since Valve enjoys making storyline details less obvious.
