What's the business model for the game? What can you acquire with real money? Is it too grindy?

So you can buy skins + other cosmetics with money, and there are a couple of currencies you can purchase with money or by playing. There are I think 20-something squads you can buy, each with slightly different capabilities, but these can also be earned either by playing or straight up purchase. Some things can only be acquired through play.

Other than the number of currencies, which takes a bit of getting used to, I think this game can be played pretty easily for free, so long as you aren't a super impatient completionist. Hope that helps, let me know if I can clarify or anything...

actually you can by anything with money, one way or another. But you can also buy anything (except for cosmetics) with ingame currency.
As for the grind: unlocking new battalions is rather quick. Upgrading these battalions to full strength will take a while though. But then again, matchmaking takes into account enhancement status, so just buying everything won't make you simply better, it will just queue against other well equipped players. (Even though this might not work right away, until a decent number of well equipped players are around)

Not p2w, lol, shakes his head.

Nope, not P2W. Pay to equip quicker, maybe, but as Satin_Potrag is saying, you can't buy skill nor tactics. Also, looking at the price for a whole company enhancement unlocks, you'd better be Cresus or at least really enjoy one to spend so much. It's a double sided blade, unlocking all enhancements puts you (in the MatchMaking generation) on the same level as the ones who played it and unlocked their path by experience.

I'd suggest you to also take in account you'll more than surely want to play with perks from other companies, not just the one in the enhancement tree, so no it's not P2W. Or if by P you mean Practice, then yes. Practice 2 Win.

Well after 40 min , I got 1000 credits.
new Batalion = 10.000 credits

win = 500 credits
fail = 250 credits here

I was getting for 600-800 per winning, but... it's still way longer then in alpha and not really worth the effort, concidering how many perks you need to unlock for full strength now. I know dev's need to recieve money - but when good dev's are selling cosmetics only, here they are selling just everything. And those who don't buy should grind for dozens of games and suffer defets from players who just paid to have all in one day (i saw people running with assasins in 10!!! minutes after release).

Credit income is directly tied to score. If you do well, you receive more.
You can get a score of 600 very easily and 1000+ for good games. Add the win bonus (which is 400 or 500, not sure atm) and you can easily get 1k or more per win. And games are extremely short. Even if you count in queue and setup time it should average to abut 20min per match.
So you should be able to unlock new battalions within a day.

After games like dota where you have everything but skins from the start spending whole day to unlock one of many batalions (that will need even more effort to become effective and stay effective via perk coins) looks not so much attractive.

If you can buy vehicles or items that help you then of course it is, common sense tells you nothing is free.

Ok, i have to correct my former statement> Battalion XP is earned as much as the score. The credits are somewhat lower (around 60%) but still directly dependent on the score. So it would be around 700-900 per game.

It's not pay to win, but as my early maths on the official forum pointed out - it's basically pay to progress at anything even resembling a legitimate rate. Whilst there have been some tweaks, myself and other veterans have remained critical of the situation (and I'm currently not playing because my job limits my time available to grind on such a massive scale)
Gnox Nov 4, 2015 @ 1:24pm
If you don't believe its somewhat p2w (pay 2 progress is just a subversive form of it in some cases) give it a few weeks when people get tired of playing the AI and the veterans start playing together to stomp the newbies, the population will drop to a handful and it'll most definately become that way inclined.

The game has no future, I got 30 days premium because of my early access VIP membership for VC and I'm used to heavy grinding (alpha/beta tested some pretty intense korean mmos) but even I can't bring myself to waste time on the colossus turd of a progression system this game has. The way so much general utility is hidden DEEP within the tree of EVERY battalion and just knowing the lack of potential this game has sucks all the will to play out of me the moment I finish a single game.

Its not even fun enough to overcome that feeling which is somewhat of a first for me since I feel its a game I should enjoy...
