Free Redux for owners of Ether One?

Will Redux version will be free for owners of the original Ether One?
I suppose the Redux version is just the Unreal Engine 4 port of the game, based on PS4 version (that's still a mess after several patches). There is nothing new at all, puzzles are the same, story is the same, the game is the same. So why asking money for this to owners of the game.
Astronauts gave Vanishing new version for free, because it's just the same game with an optimized engine. Dreamfall Chapters devs are doing the same with the Unity port of Chapters, so I presume this is just a mistake and owners of Ether One will get this version for free too, right?

And this leaving out games like Wasteland 2, Divinity: OS, giving the new version for free even if there are changes in the gameplay, not only an engine update.

I wouldn't count on it, since it hasn't been automatically added to my library even though I own the original Ether One game (deluxe version, got it from the developer's website). I did get the updated version of The Vanishing of Ethan Carver for free a few weeks ago. Since they don't bother given any information about the difference between the standard version and the redux version I'm currently not considering buying it again.

@Punished Snake: thanks for the update. I've been trying to find information about the redux version on the official website, but it isn't even mentioned. I was looking forward to replaying this game but now I will definitely not bother with the redux version. If this had been a major update similar to the Vanishing of Ethan Carter I would've. I really enjoyed replaying that game in it's new engine.

Another thing I noticed: on GOG there's only the Redux version available, plus Deluxe Edition and Deluxe upgrade. So maybe it's really a mistake?

Hey guys,

It might take a while for the Redux edition to appear in your libraries (it's in mine but I'm not sure whether it's because I've developed it or not).

You will get this edition for free if you own the original though rest assured :)

@Kiss_Of_Kill - We will keep both versions for people that want the choice of both however we'll just have 1 store page so that people don't get confused with the transition.

But just to iterate, when you buy the Redux, you get the original for free :) This isn't to make money, this is to give our fans the latest version of our work for free.

Will I get the original version if I buy Redux in more or less distant future? It would be nice to experience this game in all flavours. I know you said we would get it now, but I can' afford to get it now, hence my question.

Hey specjalista - yes, we're configuring it so that even if you buy the game in a few months and get the Redux version, you'll still get the original as a free download in that also! :)
