DS1 and DS2 Expansions
I see the Steam version does not include the Expansion for the first 2 games. Until Steam adds them to the package, I will not buy the steam version. I own DS1 and 2 +expansion and will play them on cd. DS3 sucked and was more Diablo clone then Dungeion siege style. anyone agree or disagree. the port is open. fire away.

"And not a single person answered." They'll never come out with the expansions, i've found a way to make the disc versions of them pick up for the steam version, though.

Yeah, its kinda sad what happend with the franchise. Expansions are awesome, but I doubt Square Enix will ever release them. They could make extra money with little effort.

What's the story behind that? It sounds totally assinine to keep content away from the community that wants it.
ANGRY MALICE Jun 15, 2014 @ 6:49am
If large enough amount of people would start to make some noise, maybe Square would listen..
Armatus Jun 15, 2014 @ 10:51am
Well for one, Steam isn't going to care if people such as the OP don't invest in the game.

I'm mean seriously he doesn't have 7 bucks? I popped for it last night on Steam even though I have my original copies.

If that's what it takes to get a big player involved in negoiations then let's do it, or start a petition to Steam to acquire the license to resell it.

If it takes a petition to get the EXP packs on steam with it. Where do I Sign?
Armatus Jun 16, 2014 @ 5:13pm
Well, before we get too crazy, we need to come up with a solid draft so they'll take us seriously.

Currently the issues are (as I see them) :

1. No official patches for the base game.
2. No multiplayer map packs for single player (Utraean Peninsula, Yesterhaven)
3. No expansion (Legends of Aranna & bonus pack: Return to Arhok)
4. No multiplayer support
5. Siege editor?
6. ?

Edit: That's all for DS1 of course, not sure about DS2 so someone else will have to come with that list on that. As for online multiplay, I realize that's probably not going to happen, but at least we should get the bonus packs to be able to host our own LAN or direct connect games with them.

1. All of you have failed to read the forum threads, then. Multiplayer is possible on here through a small registry edit with the Steam files for the game.

2. Do you know how many threads have made petitions for rhe expansions? It just won't happen. Let it go.

I understand multiplayer requires an edit. That's "unsupported", in fact the game is multiplayer yet it is listed as single player.

Point me to a petition that was formally made by the community.

Type the keyword petition into the discussion board. This is especially supportive of the DS2 threads, which rallys both games into needing the expansions. It's just a lost cause. They don't look on these forums. They have better things to do.

So in otherwords none exist, because what I'm talking about is not a forum post.

Even if a petition was made, I doubt it could get a lot of signs.. Its an old and not very popular game. Or maybe a couple of thousand would be enough. No idea how big the demand is for this game.

I'm telling you, there have been various petitions. I've been on these forums for a long time. They've probably been removed.

Yours wouldn't be an exception to this.
Armatus Jun 18, 2014 @ 8:20pm
I typed in the keyword "petition" and what I saw was a lot of whinning and moaning and debating in only a handful of threads.

Perhaps they've been removed as you say... so as you have been here and seen them are you telling me there was no response? They were just deleted? How many were in support? I have a hard time buying that sorry. To say they left these threads, but deleted those with considerable community investment as some sort of crack down sounds immature.

I also highly doubt based on my knowledge of the average gamer petition that it was done with any sort of professionalism, again that is IF it ever was in fact truly attempted beyond some random ranting in this forum.

One thing's certain people are still playing it. Check the in-game status on the two largest community groups. Dungeon Siege Veteran's group has 20 people playing this old ass unpopular game and another 65 members online out of 346 total. There are 58 members of the official group online, 14 of which are in game out of 210 total. Granted some such as myself are members of both. Additionally these are just numbers for Dungeon Siege 1, I haven't even looked at 2.

I believe there are other groups as well as other members who either own or play occasionally that aren't accounted for. That is small, but not dead and certainly not in comparison to all but the most popular games just looking over other gaming groups.

Since this community appears to have accepted defeat it would take me a bit to rally the numerous members who have posted and are still playing and unaccounted for.

I guess it's up to the community. I certainly can't do it alone and the attitude I'm getting so far is give up.

When did these petitions have actually worked except for Dark Souls(and it was because of 93k signs)? Square isn't forthcoming towards community. They have not even given a statement about why not release these expansion packs.

Even recently released FF8. It has midi music. A lot of people are asking for them to patch the music to decent version. But nope. They have no plans on doing it.

And do those community members play dungeon siege or they play a game in general? I am also in one of those groups simply because I love DS1. I don't own it on Steam.
