Favorite Civ to play as?

I mostly play with a random civ these days, but I always loved playing as the Greeks. Alexander was my man, and the Scientific trait didn't hurt either haha. Persians or Ottomans were always good too for Scientific and Industrious.

I used to always play as Americans, don't know why, just did :P. But now that I understand the game more I always play as Germans, Militaristic and Scientific FTW :P

Persians on small maps. Ottomans on large maps.

My favorite has always been India. No revolution years, a slight boost to economy, and elephants are incredible (basically free veteran knights that you can build without barracks, iron, or horses). Scientific / Industrious civs are a lot better in terms of straight opness but India's alawys been the most fun for me.

My favorite team is the Aztecs because in multy player i can troll my friends with attacks of enless jaguar warriors that just escape from combat and go heal. Soon enough you have 20 of them at elite, running around pillaging improvments and taking workers.

Whomever I play as, they have to be industrious. 2x worker speed is critical, especially in the early-mid game. Usually Ottomans, but sometimes Maya.

Ottoman all the way. Scientific and industrious, and they have a very powerful unique cavalry unit that sweeps through enemy cities with ease. A single army made up of three sepahi can waltz through a continent.

When I played this game during my childhood, I played as Germany because of the Scientific/Militaristic. Though I did get to the end of the game clock as China. 50 turns left, declare war on everyone simultaneously, draft citizens and hold out. I lost only like...3-4 cities.

I prefer to play as France, Industrious is quite powerful and commercial aint bad either. Their musketeer unit is rather powerful as well.

On the paper Industrial and Commercial is good, (great production, inderect boost for science), but I hate play defensively while cavalry goes around my empire pillaging everything. My fav civs are Carthaginian and Japanese.

I love to play as the Romans. I don't even know their traits; they're just awesome!

Germany is awesome in my opinion, as being a scientific and militaristic means they research quick and build good units quick.

I enjoy playing the Byzantines. I tend to enjoy the Seafaring trait and the Dromon is very good early game.
