problems with controller

I am trying to program my PS3 controller to work on psychonauts, and the only thing keeping me from playing is the constant movement glitch with these controllers, anything i do is cancelled out by excess movement, ive tried rebinding the buttons, is there anything else that could help?

Edit, the controller seems to go to a x-,y+ angle (135) if that helps.
