Psychonauts not starting.

Hey guys, I bought Psychonauts on steam summer sale and every time I click to play it says "Running Psychonauts" it does some loading and nothing happens. I check myself on my friends list and it says im playing it when I'm clearly not. It says I spent 50 minutes on the game without even playing it because of this problem. Is there any way to fix this? I have already tried many times installing that Microsoft DirectX thing and it keeps saying "Try another time" so thats not an option anymore. You guys have any tips?

Go to
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Psychonauts and set the Psychonauts.exe to Windows 95 compatibility.
Solves most problems.

I'm also running windows 8, not sure if that matters? But thank you, I will try this.

I run it fine with Windows 8, so it's probably not related to the OS.

Try reducing the resolution to 1280 x 768."
