LInux - Missing Executable
Tried everything. Deleting app cache, deleting local content and re-downloading. Game downloads instantly with 0 of 0 bytes downloaded. When I play the game it errors with Missing executable. Anyone have any luck getting this to run on Ubuntu Linux x64 14.04 lts?

I'm alos running Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit and can't download the game either. I'd really appreciate some kind of workaround. The game installs and runs just fine in Wine, but I'd MUCH rather have it installed in the native client, especially so I can use a controiler as well as have the Steam overlay and Big Picture mode enabled.

That weird, I just bought the game yesterday (sale), downloaded and then after reading that was worried (bought it cause I remember it being fun) and wanted more Linux games. It runs fine on my Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 64-bit.

I tried a solution I found on another post somewhere, although it won't help you if you didn't purchase the game on the Humble Store or another DRM-free vendor. I downloaded the DRM-free version and installed it into the directory in which Steam supposedly installed it without actually downloading the game (under the "common" directory) and it seems to work to an extent. As with the other person who did this, I cannot alt+tab or exit to the desktop in any fashion with this workaround except by exiting within the game's menus. The game itself and the Steam overlay, (and therefore, I assume, the Achievements, though I haven't yet earned any) work, however.

I got the same Problem, although it downloads "Psychonauts.ini", which just changes the language.

Don't know if anyone is tracking this thread, but I noticed that the Humble version lists that it's available for Steam on Linux now.

Another one (Xubuntu 14.04 64 bit and Kubuntu 14.04 32 bit).

Confirming this weird error on my Xubuntu 14.04 64 bit laptop. Nothing is downloaded and the directory is empty. I don't understand why because in this case Steam itself says that the game is available for Linux (Some of my previous purchases Like Machinarium/BIT.TRIP Runner/Botanicula from Humble Bundle were not acknowledged by Steam as available on my platform).

Psychonauts was available for Linux in 2012 on Humble Bundle V, and it ran just fine; I repurchased it on sale. Why can't it install?

In other words, WTF?

Ubuntu MATE 15.04, AMD 8320E, MSI 970 Gaming mobo, 16GB RAM, nVidia 650ti.

Same error Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit. Steam better do something about it!
Exact same issue here.

This thread started 6 weeks ago. Not a peep from the devs has been heard.

GRRRRR.
