I don't remember if the default was arrows only or WASD... but I did have to un-reverse the mouse up-down/forward-backward direction.
Check the controls and graphics settings first. Some games run poorly on smaller resolutions and ideal/best at your OS'es resolution. I think this was one of those games.

Only notable bug I've really encountered with this game was objects going transparent when they shouldn't. Even then that never happened too much to really hinder the gameplay in any real way.

How stupid you can be to make topic like this, naming it how buggy the game is and then you don't explain why it is buggy. Fyimo game worked perfectly fine for me.

Make sure you have the patch installed. Because I think what you're saying, is you can't choose which bunk (savegame-slot) you're going to use. I had the same problem, couldn't start playing until it was updated.
