Windows 10 controller issues

I was able to play the game fine with an Xbox One controller on Windows 8.1, having upgraded to 10 since I last played the game there is a large issue when a controller is plugged in/ used as an input. When the controller is plugged in the character constantly moves to the left, trying to move right does not stop the character or allow it to move right, however the right trigger does. i'm conmpletely confused as to why this is happening, I have unistalled and reinstalled the controller drivers and tried other games for which the problem I am having was not present. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Edit: I have just tried to use a different Xbox One controller and the issue is still present.

I get the same exact problem on Windows 10 with the XB1 controller,keyboard works fine but only if the controller isn't plugged in

Yes, looks like this is a Win10 driver issue. There's a fix for it at the bottom of this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/369110/discussions/1/535152276584138192/

The issue is a problem with Windows 10 rather than the game, someone linked a fix that has worked for me, if you see anyone else with the issue direct them to this link - http://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/317s9a/xbox_one_controller_not_working/
The fix took about a minute and now the game is working fine.
