Game doesn't launch

The game used to work fine, but now it doesn't. For the last few days, it's been saying "Preparing to launch Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year..." without doing anything else no matter how long I wait. Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

I have the same problem but I have no idea how to fix it. Nothing I try works.

I eventually figured it out. Made Steam go into offline mode, tried bringing up the game and it worked. Then had it go online again and it still worked. I have no idea how that fixed anything and don't want to question it.

I just tried going offline and starting the game. It still doesn't launch for me :'<
