REVIEW : I have mixed feeling about this game. I love the first one, but this one... it's like the developer hates the players and just want to make our gameplay miserable. The thing that I hate most about Trine 2 level design are "slippery when wet". This slippery floor make it impossible to backtrack to get missed collectibles, you either have to restart from checkpoint or restart the level entirely (if you're playing hardcore mode). The collectibles are a lot more than the 1st game and some of them are in really hidden and challenging position, but the not so fluid control make it really frustrating to get them.
Other than that, like the 1st game, it has beautiful graphics and music. The story is mediocre, more like children story. Since it has multiplayer up to 3 players, I guess it's a good family game to play with your siblings or children (if you're a parent).
I finished Trine 1 before on the same Machine, no stuttering at all...
Now with Trine 2 every movable Objects stutter, stutter, stutter around, unbearable really...
It's running on a GTX1070 with 8GB so its certainly not a Performance Issue, also i anyw...
So, yesterday I tried launching Trine 2 with this configuration:
Screen Res & refresh rate -> 1920 x 1080, Auto
Anti-aliasing -> Very High (FXAA + 3xSSAA)
VSync -> off
Graphics -> High
Stereoscopic 3d mode -> Automatic NVidia 3d Vision/ iZ3D/ None
