1. Check the Game's Files
You can do this by verifying the game cache or by reinstalling the game, which should make sure the problem isn't with the game's local files. Here is how to do the earlier through Steam:
2. Launch the Game's .exe
Please try to launch both of the game's .exe files through the game's installation folder. Its path is the following depending on where you have installed Steam. You could also try to right-click these files and run them as administrator.
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Trine\_enchanted_edition_\trine1_32bit.exe
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Trine\_enchanted_edition_\trine1_launcher.exe
If you have any trouble with finding these files, you can navigate to the installation folder through Steam by following the instructions below:
3. Update Your Operating System
Please check that your operating system and graphics card drivers are up to date. Please also note that it's best to restart your computer, if you update them.
4. Try Other Options
Please check if trying other options from the game launcher would help. I recommend at least trying different graphics settings and to launch the game in the Windowed Mode. Also trying to disable Vertical sync could be helpful. Please let me know if this makes any difference!
5. Check Open Programs
Unfortunately it's not uncommon that antivirus or other security programs sometimes interferes with any game's files, so please check this isn't the case with Trine Enchanted Edition. You could just in case add Steam and the game to your security program's exceptions.
Please also see you don't have any other programs open that could interfere with the game, for example overlay programs such as Raptr or Xfire. We also recommend plugging off all external controllers you don't use (lika drawing tablets).
If above doesn't help, just let me know and we'll look into this more! To help with our investigation, we would also like to see any newly created .dmp files from the following location. This path was mentioned in your error message.
You can share the file here or email the file to us at Support[at]Frozenbyte[dot]com. If you email us, please link this thread to your message, so we know it's about the same issue.
Also let me know if you have any questions or just how it goes. Cheers!

But I find it strange to have to do this because I can run the game on High with 60+ FPS without any problem. But at least I'm getting to play this fantastic game. I love games in this style, great and fun to play in a control. The gameplay of Zoya is a lot of fun!

Played yesterday for over an hour, no problems. Tonight, we had crashes every 5-10 minutes, resetting us back to the beginning of the level each time. Tried just about everything I've seen mentioned so far, no luck.
Also while in the first level we played the characters were really chatty, but this level they've been quite silent. Don't know if that's intended or a bug.
The error message you got would indicate that the problem is with your DirectX libraries, so please check that you're using the latest version. This site[support.microsoft.com] should help with that.
If above didn't help, please specify what exactly happens when the game crashes? Does it always happen at the same part or does it seem to be random?
We'd also like to know your system specifications and see the newest .dmp file you got from the game. These files are located in the following folder, which I saw from your error message:
In case you're wondering here is how to check your system specifications:
You can write here, but I recommend emailing the information to us at Support[at]Frozenbyte[dot]com as this thread's topic was slightly different. If you email us, remember to link this message so we know it's about the same issue.
Cheers! :)
- 1. I deleted Trine's current video configuration. Open the run and type "%AppData%" (without quotation marks) and delete the folder "Trine1".
- 2. I opened the Trine normally by Steam, the resolution I placed the native one of my monitor (1440x900) and set the graphical quality for medium and I initiated the game.
- 3. I closed the game, went to the same folder I deleted in step 1, opened the file "options.txt" and changed the "ShowGlow" of "true" for "false". This way the bloom effect is disabled, the game gets a little darker and let's say, less enchanted...
That way the crashes stopped here. I hope it helps you.- Run in Windows 7 compatibility mode
- Run without the launcher
