How many people are playing online?

Depends on where you live. I've only ever seen 2 full servers state side and maybe 10-20 total under 150ms pings (all of which have a max of 10 players in them at any given time). Everything else is overseas.

Dont really give two hoots for ping, I rack up very respectable scores at 250+ ping. It's all about tactics, positioning and situational awareness. The bots are often better than some human opponents. One shot burst kills with the LMG's and smg and absolutely deadly in melee. Join the AussieNZ / TAT servers and their like and the style of play and pace changes significantly.
