Speak English Japan!
Remember how in RO2 when the germans and russians would speak english with just an accent? Why didint they make japan the same way?

Sometimes you see an enemy moveing in the bushes and you throw a couple rounds into the bushes. Your character would yell "enemy supressed" or "he's on our side idiot hold your fire" but since the japanese speak japanese i havent a clue whats going on. anyone got any tips?

can't you disable native language? Because I enabled that in RO2 to get rid of the terrible english lines :)

They only recorded Japanese for the Japanese side. No English like in HoS. I also prefer to play with native voices though, so it doesn't affect me. You start to recognize all the phrases in their context eventually.

Sometimes you see....

This post makes me very sad.
Yeah, the germans and russians speaking english is awful. Glad that japanese actually speak japanese.

It would have been nice to have English voices for the Japanese as well. You get the option to have Germans and Russians to speak English or their native languages in the audio menu, but not for the Japanese. More options are always welcome.

There is no moving lips in this game so they couldn't get a really bad dub. Therefore they decided to not bother...
Listen to the inflection of what is being said. If sounds REALLY bad it means your shooting your buddy. Just open your ears a bit. Next thing you know you are saying random things in Japanese.
A funny thing is, they took the time to make an english-speaking "YOU'RE LEAVING THE COMBAT AREA!" and "Round won" voice. Why didn't they just use THAT one?

that being said, what's the japanese word for "grenade"? it was easy with germans and russians but with japanese i have no clue so if i miss the flying bump of pixels im basically dead.

I love that it's authentic

id hate to hear some poorly done accent in the game. It would ruin the immersion factor
With HoS it is an option to use English or native languages. It would have been nice to make it an option for the Japanese as well for players that want to understand what they are saying.
Native voices are nice until you are accidently shooting team mates and don't realise it because you cant understand what is being said. I'd like subtitles.
after doing that once you should know the line.
Seems to sound different every time. I find it very difficult to listen to Japanese and distinguish the sounds too.

maybe people not being able to understand japanese is part of the assymetrical gameplay experience...

jokes aside, it'd be nice to at least get some clarifications over the most important lines like spotting, grenades, artillery...
@General_Tostada: Grenade is "Shuryūdan", and I think artillery is "Hōhei gi" or something
