What could possible B.A.R upgrades be in RS?
I was watching the new gmaplay shot in San Fran to day and saw at least 7 secs of the b.a.r being used. I was wondering what possible upgrades could be like; bipode, removed hood over front sight blade, and flip up sights. These are just possiblities but let me know what you think of the b.a.r upgrades and arisaka rifle since it already has the bayonet.

A cool final upgrade would be duct taped together magazines for faster reload.
Yeah it would be
I hope there won't be upgrades at all for the weapons... From what I've seen they are going for a more authentic experience than HoS is anyway.
I hope the weapons are susceptible to the tropics and jam sometimes.
Random jams and lock ups would be awesome. Imagine a line of ♥♥♥♥ charging and you open up only to find that your weapon locked up. Bring it.
Well i hate to bust your bubble rolfskalder, but the new gameplay shows the leveling up strips next to the weapons on the loadout menu. but you can play the classic game mode

I wasn't talking about leveling up. I expect they would include that as they have it in RO2. I just think it would be cool to have random jamming of weapons. I know they have barrel changes on overheated machine guns in RO2, and in RS they are going to have an audible "ping" when the Garrand has fired its last round, but an occasional jam where you have to clear your weapon would certainly dice things up.
oh iam sorry i missunderstud you, sorry
Most people hated Far Cry 2's gun jamming. Sure, they were casuals. But that's the audience Tripwire is looking for. The only obvious upgrade would seem to be a bipod for the BAR. Of course the leveling up is still in the game. They are likely using the game code from RO2:HOS as a foundation for building the rest of the game. Related to the M1 Garand *ping* noise, I've just read that at GDC 2013 that they have implemented an action that allows the player to "fake reload" their Garand in an attempt to fool enemy players into thinking they are out of ammo. Finally, unlimited rounds can be fired from a single barrel in RO2:HOS using MG32. I believe it only affects the accuracy of the weapon over time. In WWII it was vital to change the barrels so they would not overheat and melt. It was also important in RO1. But now it is more optional. (for casuals).
I would like to add that The "fake reload" strategy was apparently a real strategy among GI's, although I had never heard of it until now. Although it does make sense.

I heard about the fake reload in the game. I think that since everyone knows it can be ♥♥♥♥♥, it won't mean a thing. I agree with what you've said about casual players not wanting the same level of realism. As far as Far Cry 2 went, I liked the idea that you had to maintain your weapon. Heck, even in Oblivion, you had to take care of swords and axes and such or they would lose thir edges and then eventually break. That's all gone with the advent of consolitis, I'm afraid.

..for the "fake reloading".. Search Youtube for the movie "The last bullet". The last scenes between the Aussie and the Japaneese Sniper.. B-movie but suprisingly catchy..
Hope you liked the tip.. =)
