I wasn't talking about leveling up. I expect they would include that as they have it in RO2. I just think it would be cool to have random jamming of weapons. I know they have barrel changes on overheated machine guns in RO2, and in RS they are going to have an audible "ping" when the Garrand has fired its last round, but an occasional jam where you have to clear your weapon would certainly dice things up.
I heard about the fake reload in the game. I think that since everyone knows it can be ♥♥♥♥♥, it won't mean a thing. I agree with what you've said about casual players not wanting the same level of realism. As far as Far Cry 2 went, I liked the idea that you had to maintain your weapon. Heck, even in Oblivion, you had to take care of swords and axes and such or they would lose thir edges and then eventually break. That's all gone with the advent of consolitis, I'm afraid.
