FOV?
Ok Im tweaking ini settings.
What would be the best FOV for 1920x1080 resolution? I have it set at 75 like all other games. Is that ok?

FOV is subjective. There are people who will use all sorts of equations to come up with a 'correct' FOV. Personally I have always preferred a higher FOV since my quake 2 days. Try a higher value for a round or two and play around with the setting, eventually you will find one that is comfortable for your tastes and gaming style, then you can stick with it.
75 is much too low for my taste. I prefer 90.
90 for me as well and 1920x1080 three feet from a 42" monitor.
you can't hide from me!
You are almost blind r5.
i will be soon if i keep this up. guys are almost full scale! lol
Thing is Im pretty close to the monitor about a foot and a half.
I found a FOV calculator during my Battlefield days and it said the appropiate FOV for the resolution I play at is 75, I was just wondering if its any different with this game.

Problems with higher FOV, are more strain on video card and also it can create whats called the "fisheye" effect.
Those lower FoVs are more appropriate for console gaming where you play at a distance. Higher FoVs are much better in general for PC gaming and it also reduces motion sickness for those prone to it.

Here's why:

Notice the angle at which your own field of vision meets the screen. It's much wider on the PC example. This is why a higher FoV is always better when PC gaming. It's easier on your brain to perceive a believable space within the screen with a higher field of view when PC gaming at a desk.

The motion sickness is the other way around if im not mistaken, high FOV causes it due to the fisheye effect.
No, you are mistaken.

No comment, Ive been gaming since the late 90s, I dont need a video to tell me about which FOV causes motion sickness....
But the main reason for increasing fov is that you see more from the side so you can see enemies moving near the edges of map which you would completely miss with a fow of 70.

Yes I know that, but it creates fisheye effect like I said which distorts image, and no I dont use 70 I use 75.
That "fish-eye" effect isn't even very noticable until around 100-110 FoV. That's fine if you prefer 75, whatever. That's your choice. But it is almost universally accepted by most PC gamers that 90+ is always preferable. Because, like I said, if you're sitting close to the screen, your eyes meet the image on screen at a wider angle, which makes it easier for your brain to percieve depth within the game.

Not all people suffer from motion sickness, but those that do need to play at higher FoVs to reduce that effect.

EDIT: I myself do not suffer from motion sickness, but whenever I have played games at lower FoVs, I have always gotten an "uneasy" feeling. It doesn't feel natural because it's not an appropriate FoV for sitting so close to the screen.

In BF4 I notice fisheye effect with anything over 80

I haven't played BF4 myself, but I just looked it up. Apparently, BF4 uses vertical FoV instead of horizontal FoV like most other games. So those numbers will mean different things. A 75 in BF4 is apparently the same as a 95 for horizontal FoV. RO2 uses horizontal FoV, but it doesn't go above 90.
