A Message For TWI
The recent testing for S&D was a farce. It was just me and my friend on the last day with little to zero people throughout the whole week. Can't say I'm surprised. Mr. Yoshiro. I quite like the game, and would hate to see the already small playerbase die out completely. I urge the head of TWI to motivate his team to enhance Multiplayer Campaign and release some maps with transport vehicle support to breathe some new life into Territory.

Fresh, new content and continuous optimization and bug fixing is what this game needs if it wishes to make it past 2014, rather than introducing dead-on-arrival game modes and not even bothering with removing Firefight, enhance Realism or at least make Classic mode a lot more appealing to the veterans.

Push the war's timeline ahead by a year. Now that's something different. Am I sensing fear for climbing out of the comfort zone resulting in arrested development? S&D will turn into another Firefight, e.g.: ''This sure is fun and innovative!'' Said no one ever.

Just had to leave a round early. The lag is so bad at the beginning of each round that my tank ended up stuck on top of a structure in Red October Factory. So many bugs and problems...the whole game features very "amateur hour."
Jordax142 11 fev. 2014 às 8:25
Well, I guess testing is supposed to see what is still going wrong, so that tanks won't end up on top of structures near factories when it is ready for release and the masses.

Also, isn't it normal in a closed test that stuff may go a bit wrong?

I wasn't in a testing server/game.

you're missing the point. whether or not you were in a test server, you were still playing a beta version of the game. bugs lke you found is why they are doing it. did you report it?

i'd love to get back into the beta testing, but it happens at noon, my time. i never get the chance to join in anymore.

I was there on 4 evenings. There was always plenty of players during test sessions. Other times (other than announced test session times) it was probably quite empty I assume.

Maybe you missed announced test times.

it's noon pacific, 3pm eastern standard time for those that are interested.

They'll never read this here. Post it in the TWI forum.

Since the thread is here and available:

What the game desperate needs is stability. Get rid of the ridiculous lottery on whether or not the game will crash to the desktop after a map loads, I reckon I get between a 33 and 50% chance of it crashing after a map loads. The game crashes in the middle of maps too, a not infrequent occurence.

Occasionally it completely freezes for between 5 and 10 seconds. Chat on the campaign menu and map select is buggy. You can't post sometimes and you some times cannot scroll, and othertimes you scroll the chat and it pings back up to the top. Mute settings and kick-voting are similarly clunky and buggy. These are aside from aspects of the gameplay which are buggy, the worst offenders being the tanks.

I love the game and have defended it from the Bagrations of the community time and again, but the game has been hard work at times, and if I'm honest, that the game is still so badly unstable is unacceptable. This game is not one which has been rushed out and at any rate, they've had years to fix the bugs now, but some of them were not present in earlier builds. I'm happy with the level of content in RO2 [Rising Storm notwithstanding], and while I'd never say no to more content for HoS, but I'd rather they fixed how the game is because it's getting beyond a joke now.

It's not even like it's because the game is heavily modded.

Agree with pretty much everything.
Pretty hilarious too that TWI spouts hate on CoD for saying ''cod ruined a generation of gamers'' while they cod-ified their own game in the form of realism (basically action mode without crosshair).

A gamemode from CoD, S&D in RO? Sure, why not. It fits in the TWI-spirit.

You can DL the beta builds on steam. I had no idea there was some organized testing going on at certain times. That one is news to me. I use to have the betas download on steam but never anyone really using them. So I stopped with that. Eh...

S&D hasn't been installed into the base game. It has been in testing in the beta build every day the past week except for Friday. It seems they cancelled that test day. All the other days had a nice turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the mode.

S&D is the worst game mode they could come up with imho.

In any given game, at least 25% or more of casualties are friendly fire. Now they want to have a one life mode? LOL

S&D will be a ragefest. Too many people will get tked right off the bat and noone wants to sit around for 15 mins or so watching someone crawl way out on the flank and hide in a bush. S&D is gonna encourage people to camp and games are gonna be a borefest as well as a ragefest for all the people killed by friendly fire.

Worst idea ever for this game.
