Steam Is required to play game?

I get the error steam is required to play the game every time i try to run the game. I reinstalled it but still no luck. Any fixes?

I get this error if I try to launch the game from the windows 7 taskbar. I just launch through the steam library and it works without issue

^ i think it might be ur graphic card it has a high demand in computer tech. try unloading it and then downloading it agaain put ur setings to low IMEDIATELY so you can play it just tweek it little by little till u think the fps and resolution is perfect for your computer.
