please implement target indicator for grenades and bayonnets
that probebly sounds outragous whhaaaat? target indicator in my uber realistic RO?

well the thing is, i find it more unrealistic how someone would throw a grenade only to bounce off a wall and kill all your friends inside
or being in touch distance from the enemy and you bayonnet just goes next to him, resulting you getting killed.

im not asking for anything fancy, just some white dot in the center of the screen so you can tell where the nade/bayonnet would go.

in real life, people do these things intinctivly, they can roughly calculate how and where they throw their grenade/thrust with the rifle so usually they don't miss this kind of stuff.

it won't hurt the immersion or realism. it will make these actions more natural and simpler to understand.

trying to stab someone shouldn't be like playing surgeon simulator.

then again, this game didn't recieve an update for almost a year...

For me the difficulty associated with throwing grenades in this game reflects my ability to throw things in real life rather well.

Level =/= skill.

I'd have to agree with Kraft. It comes with training; both grenade and bayonet skills.

no. in real life there is no white dot in the middle. soldiers back then measured the distance and then throw the grenade. just like we do.
well aftier playing a bit i just figured i can use my character's stretched hand to as a target indicator for the grenade

so i guess an indicator is not needed after all, still, the game should at least tell how to aim the nade properly just like how it teaches you about bullet drop.

as for the bayonnet - it's usless and just a novetly weapon either way so there is little point fixing that.

The bayonet is so not just a novelty weapon as japanese.

Use the fingers on the hand as a guide (the grenade will arc about an inch to the right and half an inch up IIRC) and always throw with a full charge.

I've not practiced much tossing them with the alt-fire (underarm IIRC) because I seldom have cause to and don't like killing myself and team-mates while testing, but will get around to it eventually.

Bayonets are fine, are a core piece of kit for a Rifleman, and not that hard to use. Just make sure you have them fully charged when you sprint in ready to one-shot your victims.

After tossing enough grenades in game and using the bayonet enough I have a pretty good idea how far I can toss and with how much accuracy. Just takes some trial and error and have to know when you are over estimating your self. Basically I go with this set of rules, if a target is too difficult to toss a grenade at, then go ahead and try. If a target is too difficult to toss a grenade at, and risk killing your team mates in the process, DO NOT TRY. If you follow that thought process you may avoid accidental TKs with a grenade.

I think someone screaming "Grenata" or "Granate!" is enough for you to know theirs a nade near you.

Y.O.B.A. Called it just keep a ear out for voice warnings most grenades also make impact noises if you know what to hear for.
Tig Ol' Bitties (Bloqueado) 30 ENE 2014 a las 23:08
In regards to the original post, his suggestion is not without merit. Throwing grenades through windows in this game is exceptionally UNREALISTIC as it often puts the grenade far away enough from your intended aim that it bounces back and kills you and your teammates.

The idea of a reticule for grens just to correct this clumsy and unrealistic part of RO2 is worth considering.
General Sherman 30 ENE 2014 a las 23:27
the hand your character model hold out in front can be used as an aiming point. I'm pretty sure its around where the thumb is.

An indicator for the bayonet sounds ridiculous. There is literally no need to aim those.
