Population of the game

I am looking into playing this game with my wife, but I just wanted to make sure that there are still a decent number of players on servers.

If we do get the game, would you guys recomend we get the DLC? And do you find the game a rewarding experience in small groups?

-Yes! For the love of god buy Rising Storm instead of Heroes of Stanlingrad. Why? Rising Storm has ALL the multiplayer content of Heroes, plus the new pacific theatre. The only "pro" for Heroes is the SP campaign, but the bots are broken and it'll teach you nothing for the multiplayer.

-It is very rewarding in small groups. Communication is key anyway :)

Here is a very important tip: Capzones are key. Don't camp 'em. Don't stare at 'em.

It depends on where you live. If you are like me and live in west coast NA, you wont find many populated servers below 150 ping. If you live in the EU you should be fine. Game is fun though regardless.

There are multiple servers based in the U.S.

I believe there's even one or two in Canada, but they're not very popular, if memory serves.

Don't understand what list Worstluck is checking, I always play on full US 64-player servers and I'm in California.

The answer is yes, you will always be able to find a full US server.

And yes, buy Rising Storm to get both RS and RO2.

I'm sure someone out there will always have their own server running. RO1 still has servers running by a few dedicated players.
