this would be a quick refund if there wasnt voice acting. there seems to be no animation. but with VA and nice pictures, it'll do. I wouldnt advise anyone to try it though. finished ep 1 and theres seems to be no story, just the main chick getting banged. well it's more like 6 short stories with no meat to em. after some thought I decided to refund which is a shame, with the mix of VA and top tear visuals, I mean leann is smoking, the absence of animations simply makes this game not worth the few bucks it's listed at.

The good - and the only good - the *static* visuals are excellent. The female MC is stunning.

But there are no animations. This may not bother you, but it does me because animations are an industry standard. Even short loops are expected; you don't have to do a full on movie, but some movement needs to be rendered. There are a few points where there are two static scenes and the game switches between them to simulate animation, but I don’t feel like those count.

An AVN *can* get away with not having animations, but its other aspects, e.g. the writing, need to make up for the lack. That doesn't happen here.

One reviewer says the game has good "cinematics," but I don't think that word means what they think it means.

First off, this is less of a novel and more of a series of short scenes that are being labeled as chapters. And they get away with labeling them chapters because, in all fairness, literature is replete with a variety of chapter sizes. After all, Faulkner did have an entire chapter consisting of nothing but the words "My mother is a fish."

That being said, this isn't As I Lay Dying. The first scene was over and consisted of nothing that you could *really* call character development. I mean, it was a scene where the MC decided to start doing risque adventuring for unknown reasons. The whole course of the event was peppered with a hesitant internal monologue that offered no real characterization beyond idle wondering, e.g. “Why am I doing this? Is this right? What’s wrong with me?”

And some reviewers seem to laud the game for its use of quick time events (they call them mini-games, but I find that label a bit gratuitous here). These events are ok, though laborious at times, but I question their use during NSFW scenes. I mean, usually, and I could be wrong, people are...how to say this delicately...'busy' during those scenes. So asking your audience to quickly mash A and D in rapid succession or to reenact an arrow pattern on your keyboard seems a bit of an intrusive development choice. It seems like a bad call.

Some of the quick time events are a bit better. Some force you to engage with the plot, e.g. a quick time event that has you aligning a lock to indicate someone entering the room. But success or failure in the event offers nothing to the story; the character doesn’t enter the room faster the more quickly you resolve the puzzle. It’s just a barrier to the story’s flow, although one that can be skipped (which begs the question, why bother).

There are some grammatical errors; this wouldn’t be a deal breaker except for the fact that the game is so short. So what is written should be pretty polished because it wasn’t that much to go over.

In conclusion: the game is more of a collection of thinly connected scenes than a novel; it has good static visuals but lacks animations; its characters seem mostly one dimensional or plot fixtures and what development is there seems simplistic; the writing is serviceable but a bit uninspired. The game ultimately feels like a 5 dollar title dressed up as a 12 dollar one.

The game does give a shout out to its visual artist and, well, the visuals were pretty great.

One final note added in later. I play all AVNs with the sound off, meaning that I didn't hear the voice acting for this game during my first play through. I went back and listened to some of it. It didn't change my opinion of the work; voice acting has its place, but I do not believe it improves a virtual novel any more than an audiobook improves its source material.

Despite this, some of the reviewers seem to think that the game being fully voiced adds to its quality. As one person writes: "it made an average game good." I disagree.

Regardless of whether or not the voice acting itself was good, its inclusion in the work did not render the characters more relatable or the plot more engaging. It may have made the work more sensually pleasing to some, but I can't say the product itself is better just because voice actors were used.
