How to get your Town Points from Steam purchase

Hey Townies,

I have been getting a lot of emails of people who are confused why they weren't credited their 2000 Town Points when they first login so I wanted to let everyone know the process to get those points.

When logging in on the game you must do the following:

* Click the 'Login with Steam' button.
* Click the 'Link Account' button to link an existing TOWN OF SALEM account or click 'Create Account' to create a new account with us (this lets you login on the forums, browser version of the game, etc)
* After logging in with the Steam button (using the information about your TOWN OF SALEM account, not your Steam account), you should be rewarded with your 2000 points :)

EDIT: If you are experiencing the "User not found" error after completing the steps above, visit the other post here.

EDIT 12/15/16: Any user with a Steam account linked to their Town of Salem account will get increased Merit Points from Achievements, wins, losses, first win of the day and sharing! You can also play on any platform and still get the bonus as long as the account you are playing on is linked to your Steam account. This bonus is also applies to Merit Point gains from accounts that were linked before the 1.5.10 patch.

When did you try to link? It may be you linked your account when things weren't working correctly a while ago. If that is the cause, we gave out free Town Points on Valentines day to fix people whose points didn't get registered correctly.

Still don't get the link. I signed in with my Steam account and I had the starting coins of 1000+ but I heard those were free. How do I get the points? Thanks

I got my points, but after a week or so, the Sign in with Steam button stopped working, giving me a "Steam ID Invalid" error and prompting for a password, but won't accept my password. More here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/334230/discussions/0/610573751149471888/

i actually forgot about these after i was unable to sign in with steam :P i will try now to link my account with steam though

I have an issue as well, if I log in with my regular account for town of salem, it works fine. The issue is when I click sign in throught steam, it wont connect to the server. It says "Cannot connect to server, please try again later." Is this a bug or just my game. I also have adobe air installed and up to date.
