Dawn of Discovery: Venice Unofficial Patch! Thousands of fixes!

Hi everyone, now that Dawn of Discovery: Venice has been patched to the final 2.1 version and Steam is selling the game again, please strongly consider downloading my free unofficial patch for the game.

The patch fixes thousands of grammar and syntax errors, restores over 1,000 quest story texts, and fixes over 50 quest bugs. It does much more, and all changes are all lore-friendly and perfectly balanced.

The installation is very easy too. Download the archive, then extract the Unmodded folder or one of the optional Modded folders to your install directory. That's it.

@Pinecone: if I had to do it all over again I would have just made an Offline Profile, since this doesn't need to check in with the servers. Sure, that disables Online play, but most people just play Offline anyway.

Is this patch just for venice or is it also for dawn of discovery as well? Sicne that one has gramical errors and broken quest lines to.

The patch is only for Venice. The Venice expansion replaces the original game though, except for the main story campaign, which you have to play in the original Dawn of Discovery. My patch doesn't cover the campaign, so you'll have to endure all the grammar errors, missing quest texts, and other oddities during the campaign.

For all the scenariors and continuous games, use Venice along with my patch.

DoD will show v 1.03.3639, which from my research is the last updated version of the game.
I don't see any DRM and this is UPLAY crap free so far, so that is good news. :)

My question (about to try a game) is - there Steam achievements for these 2 games? Trading cards?

No Steam Achievements or Trading Cards. However, the game itself has Achievements you can track in the game itself.

Steam is now finally updated to the latest versions, 1.3 for DoD and 2.1 for Venice. So this is good.

Since you run the wiki & I don't plan on starting an account there, I have some info on a walk through.

DoD, Chapter VIII, Pillars of Justice, Race Against Time III on Hard mode:

I started the last stage on the Cathedral at 30 minutes and litterally failed by seconds. I redid it and won by starting it at 33 minutes. So I suggest adding a tip to start the Cathedral with 33-35 minutes time to beat Lucious on this final stage of construction.

The tooltip is correct because it lists 2 Tanneries and 4 Pig Farms I believe. My patch is unlikely to have any obvious errors since it has been tested for over a year.

FYI, I'm not active on the Wiki anymore by the way, so it is unlikely it will be updated sadly.
