If you're in the mood for some good escape room shenanigans, Light In The Woods is a great way to scratch that itch.

There isn't any crazy 'staple a moustache to a can of peaches using honey,' type mechanics to advance, the puzzles are quite logical and down-to-earth. Set in a house, you'll progress through the main lounge area, into the kitchen, through to a bedroom and then into the basement and each room offers it's own unique experience. There's a demon waiting for your time to run out - but once you get caught once or twice it's fairly intuitive to start again where you left off.

The only feedback I would give regarding optimising: Because I was usually aware of the 'death clock' in each room, when it came to reading the lore and text I gleaned over any notes I saw because I didn't know whether this affected the count-down. I would wholeheartedly play a sequel to this, going into more depth about the demon and why he was there, or have an expanded house/mansion with more rooms and puzzles. Maybe in between each room there's a 'safe area' or where your main character could either talk to other NPCs that were also trapped or have time to read the notes so that it's not continuously room after room trying to solve puzzles. Give the player a little breather - or time to absorb all the info going on.

I also found it a little finicky as certain puzzle areas (like a cabinet or lock box) required you to right click on an item rather than be presented with a screen saying that an item could be used - an example of this in my play through was the second room (lounge area) where I found a key but couldn't use it on the cabinets as I hadn't realised at that point that I had to right-click - this is my own fault, as I was expecting a screen to pop up like the record player, but this is only a small quibble.

Everything else was great - looking forward to trying to escape another house!
