Can't create a new profile in Singleplayer.

Hey guys, title basicaly says it all.
I've got a version of Tachyon I bought from Direct 2 Drive before they went defunct. I used to play it on an old machine, but I just installed it on my new, Crysis 2-enabled rig, and when I started the game, there was no option to create a new profile.

To clarify, I would start the game, and be directed to the main menu. Then I'd click on Single Player, and I'd see a roster of empty slots. I'd click on one, and nothing. I'd double click on one, and nothing. All the buttons at the bottom are greyed out except 'Back'.

I've tried running everything in compatability mode and administrator mode, but no joy.

OS is Windows 7 x64.

Anyone got around a similar problem?

just press TAB and left click
