GUYS I FOUND A WAY TO FIX IT ON MY END!!!
http://jkdf2.com/
this site has intructions. the unnoficial patch from jkhub corrupts the exe
-redownload your steam version of jkdf2
-launch it once
-delete in the folders the jk launcher
-launch it and make sure you can load the first level
-then follow the intructions from the site which include:
- downloading a prepatched version of the exe with the dll
- downloading the enhanced and texture mods in an easy zipped version to be dropped into resources.
I needed to use -windowgui but some of my friends said they didn't need to use it.

For me at least, that's exactly what this update does. The game now runs in fullscreen properly, at my native widescreen resolution, and without the graphical artifacting I got before.
And as a bonus now has music.

Crash when the game start after the custscenes.

I'm having the same problem now too. I even did a clean install of the game without mods/patches, and it crashes upon loading a level. Cutscenes work fine, though.

Guess we'll have to wait until we get an update to the modding guides that incorperates this new and unexpected patch.

Yes all broken. Okay I won't play the game I paid for. Thanks for not letting me.

The download file "JK.EXE included TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen ... at least at my patch... so maybe all our security software cancelled playing the game... but RLY ! What the heck did Disney patched at our computers ?!

What Coeml says. Avira flags it as a virus. Great update guys! :-(

Same thing for me : there is a virus in the last update, in the JK.EXE file : TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen
From Avira.
What the hell are they doing ?

It does now, but it didn't at the time I posted my comment. They released another patch after my comment which made it much better.

Avira tells: JK.EXE is the Troyan Horse: TR/Crypt.XPack.Gen

This is what I'm telling from the beginning. But it is a false positive I would say. Avira also detects for me the Rayman 1 GoG Version as a virus. and this is also not a virus.

nice to see the menu and cutscenes in fullscreen. also the soundtrack is finally here after almost 7 years since the steam release in september 2009.

FFS stop using Avira if it's that ghetto or just add it to the exceptions list.
What gave this update? Why unscrupulous publisher or developer did not write about it in the news updates?

the second update adds the soundtrack. I'm not sure if fullscreen menu and cutscenes was included in the first update yesterday or it came also with the second one. Not sure anymore. I thought yesterday that the first update did nothing.

For those of you having problems, if you had mods or tweaks installed, I'd do a complete reinstall.

After this update, everything works way better for me, it starts in fullscreen, it doesn't crash from the menu anymore, 3D acceleration kinda works (HUD and black screen) and the music seems to be back! We even have Steam Cloud integration, it looks like.

I'm honestly really thrilled that Disney is bothering to try and make this right, I really expected they'd ignore or delist this game, but they actually updated it, and I really hope we can expect the same treatment for MotS, and if they do anything with JK2 or JKA, I'll probably wet myself.
