It took you long enough, Codies, but this is how you do it.

The only two things that needed to happen to the Steam version of this game:
1. Remove GFWL
2. Add DLC to Steam store.

The Complete Edition managed to remove GFWL and add the DLC in for no extra cost, while also magically appearing in my Steam library for free thanks to already owning DiRT 3.

As far as April Fools jokes go, this is the least-funny most-amazing one I've ever been hit by.

Pressing alt + enter repeatedly lets you skip the annoying voices at the beginning and everywhere else in the game.

Best racing game IMO, got the free upgrade from Dirt 3
Pros:
- Good drifting physic
- Good graphic even for low spec PC
- Manual is the best choice here
- No GFWL

Cons:
- Nah

I'll leave this as short and simple as I possibly can, because let's look at the facts. This is a five year/nearly six year old game. Yet, the graphics department is not lacking to this date as one may expect! Neither is the game play. Look at the current videos of high quality settings, or my screenshots. This game still looks and plays great! That in itself is rare and a testament to CodeMasters and their numerous years spent creating quality racing games (for the most part). In fact I find this racer to be more responsive and acceptable to true skill via setup and personal driving style than many of today's releases and that's not a sentiment I pass lightly! So, please do yourself a favor and consider purchasing this gem of a racing game.

For existing users it has been stated numerous times already that GWFL has been removed :) And that not only have the Codie's revisited this game, and revamped it so its player base weren't out of luck like so, so many other developers?!?! No! And not only that, but they included all of the DLC, and guess what?! Look hard fans of old, as there are some new easter eggs and improvements that you will only notice if you spent a lot of time playing the original. I had 100+ hours in the GFWL version before they made this title available in Steam. I would definitely reinstall this "new" version if you own the original. I'd be highly surprised if you're disappointed in the decision but at the end of the day: To each their own!

5 years after initial release... it still kicks ass and it still has better graphics than most games coming out in 2015

Also, bothering to remove GFWL and giving a complete edition for free for previous owners just shows how cool Codemasters really are.

The good -
- Excellent semi-realistic car handling.
- No GFWL!
- Great graphics considering this is a 5 year old game.
- No GFWL!
- They added Steam achievements and trading cards.
- No GFWL!
- Free to owners of the GFWL version of Dirt 3.
- No GFWL!
- Comes with all of the DLC for free.
- There's also no GFWL!

The bad -
- Slightly annoying American voice overs which congratulate you when you win.
"Awesome dude! That was rad! Put it on Youtube!".........No, stop it, shut your mouth.
- Not much else, this game rocks.

I know this game's 4-5 years old but I've decided to review this game as it's had a bit of a new lease of life with the "complete edition".
My favourite driving game of all time, never get bored of it.
It still looks better than most driving games now, the graphical detail is still brilliant 5 years after its release.
The audio is second to none, the cars sound like you're actually with them.
The steering/controls are great, it takes getting used to as any driving game does but never puts you off. In fact of all the Codemasters racing titles car handling I think they got right with Dirt 3.
There's lots of tracks from around the world and different terrain which include tarmac, concrete, gravel, snow circuits. This is a Rally game but apart from Rally there's RallyCross, Landrush and Head to Head which mix it up a bit which I believe Codemasters latest to the Dirt series Dirt Rally is missing, as that game feels empty to me, no other cars to see except your own isn't my kind of game but each to their own. There's also Trailblazer (like rally only much faster cars) and something I and many others think the game could have done without, Gymkhana. But annoying as Gymkhana is, it does give you a sense of achievment when you manage to get past it.
The Online Multiplayer is still populated though to get the most out of it, you would probably need to be in sync with European timezones.
This Complete Edition is what it says, complete with all DLC and no Windows live. I liked Dirt 3 before , but with the DLC it's even better and got me into the game again (Windows live wouldn't let me buy the DLC before). Also now it has Steam Achievements.
If this game has passed you by until now so you haven't got this in your collection yet or if you like the other Dirt games or even Grid games and want a solid driving game give this a try, especially if it goes on sale.

I had to cry every time i launched DiRT 3 and use that GFWL satan spawn thingy.
But now the gods listened to our prayers and gave us this.

Behold, the best and only DiRT 3 version that should exist. DiRT 3 is a prime racing experience with great graphics and physics, well made tracks and car handling is above other, truly a racing simulator.

There are also negative sides of the game, but those are purely on personal preferences.

What i loved:
-The graphics and tracks. Stunningly beautiful, with great amounts of details.
-The cars and how they handled. DiRT 3 has impressive gameplay that can be easily enjoyed by both casual and hardcore players.
-The optimization. Runs buttery smooth.
-The way events were put into season and how you unlocked each one of it.
-Everything pretty much.

What i hated:
-Gymkhanas were a pain in the butt.
-Sometimes annoying unskippable voice cutscenes.
