Cheers,

how does this even make sense?
Are you implying windows/ios users are all programmers that like to hack other platform programs??? Like what lol?
Seemed pretty clear to me. He's saying that not all Linux users want to mess about with Wine to get Windows games working. We're just people who like to play games, but prefer to use Linux.
Is... that clearer? Does it "make sense like what lol" now?
Ok ok here I will break it down for you why the way he phrased it is super vague:
"but the point is linux users don't have to be programmers that like to hack other plataform programs just users that like to purchase programs that run in linux"
-he is pointing out one thing that differentitates linux users from windows/ios users here
-he is implying other platform users [windows and ios] are all programmers that like to hack other platform programs by pointing out how linux users are different
-but windows are ios users are not all programmers that like to hack stuff, in fact alot of windows users just know the basics to a computer
-he is saying that linux users are people who like to buy software[games in this case I'm assuming] that run in linux
-but indirectly he is implying that other platform[windows/ios] users are NOT people who like to buy software that run in their platform
-because otherwise why point out linux users like to purchase programs that run in linux? Isn't this a given? I mean it's like saying " hey I use ios, but boy, do i LOVE buying programs that run on a windows!"
-no, all people like to buy software that runs on their platform, like, it's not just limited to the linux user base
see how the way he phrased it doesn't make sense? I know this is the internet and usually I don't go all grammar nazi but I was pretty confused by this one lol.
"But the point is: Linux users don't have to be programmers, that like [] to hack other platform programs [], [Linux users are] just users that like to purchase programs that run in Linux."
An alternate version could be: "Linux users are just users who like to purchase programs that run on Linux. They are not necessarily programmers who know how to, or enjoy, getting Windows programs to run on Linux."
I also agree with this. Previously, I would buy games for Windows that could run in Wine, but with the amount of native Linux games available these days, I no longer want to spend the extra time and effort getting such titles to work and will rather buy native Linux games instead.
P.S. There is no hidden subtext in this post and it is not a statement about users of non-Linux platforms.
First of all, I was not ranting, I was explaining why I came to my conclusions to someone who doesn't understand my first post. These 2 things are very different, learn to differentiate between them.
Second, pausantandreu was using absolutes which made his points........well, absolute. He was separating linux and windows/ios users into 2 categories that cannot mix, whereas in reality all 3 groups have much in common with each other. So if you read off his original text and not a biased version, pausantandreu was being extremely vague, due to the points listed in my previous post.
