Did they fix driving on the wrong side of the road?
In the original game, cars drive on the left side of the road even in the US version of the game. They probably copied-pasted from the British version and forgot to update the US port. Does this edition fix this? Thanks for info.

I also hated that the cars are on the wrong side of the road, there should be an option to flip them, doubt its fixed. booting up now to see if there is an option for it.

Yeah this is a gamebreaker for me.

I haven't played the game yet, but could it possibly be because cars drive on the left side of the road in Hong Kong?

You.... you may just have a bit of common sense in your genes. I am impressed.

When I drive on the left I feel bad cause it's illegal in the US.

It wouldn't be Hong Kong if you didn't drive on the left side of the road. Just sayin'.

Just checked in game the problem from the last game is still there. Really they shoulda added an option to have them drive on the right side of the road like normal people. There were huge threads before for them from users saying its difficult to adjust to, weird they ignored that but somehow arbitrarily removed different DLC which noone ever made threads about :P

Maybe this option to flip them can be patched or modded in. Would imagine its a simple line of code to swap a bit of code with.

You realise that here in the UK, when we play GTA games, they still have left-hand drive vehicles traversing the right-hand side of the road? They're set in the USA, and that's how one drives there. Same applies here.

This isn't a bug, or an oversight, or anything like that. It's a factual accuracy based on the setting of the game. I also resent the suggestion that any country where driving on the left is standard is in some way not "normal". Why not set aside your offensive prejudices and accept that America isn't the only country in the world.

I also think GTA should have this setting so players in the UK can choose their side of the street. Much like choosing a language in the game its in Hong Kong they all speak chinese but I would prefer understanding what their saying so prefer hearing it in english. The driving side should also be an option to allow for a comfortable experience for the individual player even if its not native to the area :D

So it kinda seems more like a bug that their driving on the wrong side for alot of us since we should be able to choose that to match our comfort just like we choose the language they speak.

There would be a lot more to do than just flipping the sides of the road... I know GTA 4 for instance had npc's talking to you from the side of the road leaning on your car, etc.. if the side of road to drive on was flipped, all the little extras that go with it would have to be changed also.

Including those npc's and all the street signs would have to be readjusted to be accurate, etc, etc.

Its not so simple as flipping a switch per se.

thats true about the signs, guess its not that easy from a cosmetic viewpoint. But for a modder where we wouldnt care about cosmetics it could be easy? Isnt the AI for peds leaning like contextual anyways on where the car is so it wouldnt break it?

The most plausible solution would be to flip the entire game world, much like was done for Twilight Princess on the Wii. Probably involves a fair amount of work, for the sake of breaking the game's accuracy.
