GPU Error Solution / GPU Fehler Lösung

Hello everybody!

Since the problem occured more often I decided to open up this short trouble-shoot thread to explain this error. Some are reporting that they have a GPU / Graphic Card but cannot start up the game as the game says the GPU isn't capable of running the game. In fact: Both statements are true. The problem occurs, at least so far, on notebooks only. Notebooks which have an onboard GPU and a separated gaming GPU (e.g. Intel HD card for Windows, NVIDIA GeForce Whatever for gaming). What happens is that the game and steam try to run it on the Intel card - which just cannot work as not enough VRAM is available.

So, what to do? Two steps should be enough actually:
1) Update your video drivers. That's always a good thing to do.

Da das Problem nun schon öfter aufgetreten ist, habe ich mich für diesen Thread entschlossen. Einige melden, dass das Spiel sagt, man habe eine zu schwache GPU für das Spiel, obwohl der Grafikchip die Mindestanforderungen erfüllt. Fakt ist: Beide Aussagen sind tatsächlich wahr. Das Problem tritt bisher ausschließlich bei Notebooks mit zwei GPUs auf (einer, die von Notebook idr. für Windows verwendet wird, z.B. eine Intel HD Karte und eine, auf die das Notebook eigentlich wechselt, wenn es in den Spielebetrieb geht, z.B. eine NVIDIA GeForce Modelwasauchimmer). Was passiert ist, dass das Spiel von Steam mit der falschen GPU gestartet wird - und das kann nicht funktionieren, da nicht genügend VRAM verfügbar ist.

Also, was tun? Zwei Schritte sollten das Problem lösen:
1) Updated den Videotreiber. Das ist so oder so eine ziemlich gute Idee und sollte grundsätzlich getan werden.

DevTeam is working on next patches. If your graphic drivers are updated and game is Stilo not working properly temproary try to play with Video and Performance tabs in game Options.

Try to set up your settings by lowering some of them with e.g. one step down or Turn off some of them:
- Turn off Antialiasing and Max.Anisotrophy
- Turn off postprocessing and shadows
- change resolution from defaulft to any other that fit ok
- low for Traffic Volume
- low/medium for Vegetation Quality and Visibility Range
- play with other settings to make game stable performance

My laptop specifications Dell Vostro 3750:
Intel i7 - 2,2 GHz
8 GB RAM
Nvidia GT 525M

after turning off some parameters and lowering values and presets on Video and Performance tabs Cityconomy run on my laptop stable 30fps

i get the same error abt meeting requiorments i dont have a nvidia card(probsbly the reason why) i have an AMD radeon 7560 D and i can run games like elite dangrous on it perfectly fine please help i cant even get into the game to change any settings lol

Hey, bei mir startet das spiel nicht und zeigt mir dann den GPU Fehler an , spiele aber an einem normalen PC, also kein Laptop. Die System Anforderungen treffen bei mir auch zu und habe auch alle Treiber aktualisiert, trotzdem läuft es nicht an. Wer weiß einen Rat???

I just bought new PC 8 G Lenovo game will load then game starts then it crashs

why when u start the game everything is black but the trees are in color

Hello, did you solve it in any way? I have the same problem, everything is fine but when the session starts it's all black exept the trees and the sky. thanks.
