While you aren't wrong, game reviews and press copies are NEVER released shortly before release. Some outlets might be lucky enough to review a game 1 week before or something, but other than that...
In this day and age, with steam refunds, there hardly is a need to be worried.
You either buy it or wait and if you decide to buy it, just don't play more than 2 hours of it.
Keys went out. Everyone better off stop flipping out and have some faith.

There is one significant difference that makes this comparison disingenuous: No Man's Sky was hyped by every gaming outlet and media resource for nearly two years before its release to the point where the built up expectations were completely unrealistic fantasy.
Very few Indie developers provide any of the information features you've mentioned in your post, and yet none of them end up as "another No Man's Sky".
Public Betas are actually quite rare, with only about an estimated one in six games released per year actually doing one. Many Indie and some Triple-A developers use Steam Early Access as a means of implementing a Beta phase because they actually don't have the resources to set up a normal Beta.
Almost every game has a media review embargo on it prior to release, in order to ensure that all media outlets giving the game coverage take time to provide a more informed review.
Release dates are being kept quiet now in case a developer has to hold the game back due to the overwhelming negativity a release delay generates.
To be blunt, all of these complaints are the result of the mob mentality that rules a certain vocal minority among the gaming community, coupled with the tantrum-throwing immaturity of gaming media outlets that intentionally try to sabotage games that don't comply with their demands. Developers used to be a lot more open about their games, but doing so now is tantamount to guaranteeing the game's failure if there is even one perceived flaw in the product.
While you are not wrong, that approach is also only half the story. No Man's Sky did a great job of hyping the game up themselves, with supposed "ingame trailers" and other things showing off the game in a form, that was never reached in the final product.
Seriously, look at the E3 Trailer, they claimed that was "in game".
"no reviews/press copy"
as if i needed some youtuber garbage lord yelling like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ everytime an alien gets shot to make my mind about the game, all i care is the opnion of litterally thousands of nobodies who enjoy coop games to tell me if this is worth or not.
I honestly doubt it is ♥♥♥♥ because the e.y.e. maker is in there, that guy is competent and i believe his work, i won't pre-order but i am keeping an eye on this.
Why are you even talking about Nu Male's Sky? Anyone with half a brain knew it was going to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as soon as they saw the gameplay demo for Nu Males Sky because as shown there was nothing to do in the entire game.
While I do wish there was more information about the game pre-release and honestly want to ask for some, there is no point in getting upset and making a thread about it. Its not like you're one of the ultra-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who preorder games right? Wait for a game to be released and watch gameplay on the internet through videos/streams. There is always at least one streamer/video creator out there who is making content showing off unedited gameplay where you can judge the game.
You sound like an idiot who was dumb enough to get burned by Nu Male's Sky and now seek to ♥♥♥♥ on everything with a vengeance. Its not a bad attitude to have, but just wait for release and find some unedited gameplay to make a decision on instead of listening to frauds/marketers. The game isn't going to disappear just because you didn't preorder it/buy it day 1.
