The Escapists
Game broken, or am I just doing something wrong?
Alright so I find a guard alone, so I beat him up, take the key and uniform and dress as him, then I take him and hide it in a place where he needs the key to get out. So I am disguised as him, right? So then I get a letter saying that I have stolen a key and then all the sudden I'm in a cell. Not only should they not have found the guard, but they should have to have someone beat me up. They should not just force me to drop my weapons and stuff. Also those snipers outside just get me from doing any little thing I'm not supposed to. I'm disguised as a guard, I get shot. I am 1 second late to roll call, I get shot. I appear outside for half a second, I get shot.
I take a little extra time to do my job, I get shot. Then I get fired. These snipers who shoot through the walls are making it impossible to rebel.

thats why theres something called undergorund lol
Do you mean dig underground? If so, whenever I use a trowel or anything to dig I just get shot, no matter what. Also seriously what's the point in being able to steal keys if you just get teleported to the solitary cell and lose everything in your inventory?

Dude, you gots to take the key, make an imprint of it (with putty) and then pour molten plastic in the imprint, then you have a plastic key, then you return the original key to the guard.

I know that after I got some help from the phone guy, but I'm saying that after I take the key, lock the guy in a room after tying him up with rope, he shouldn't get up, realize his key is stolen and teleport me to solitude.
Awesome try Specter Knight, i wish this could work!!
Unfortunately the game cheats a lot about the detection. There are simply some things that you can never do because they will magically find out.
I tried tunneling into a differenct person's cell, and I left. Hoping they would be framed for it, they patched it up and put me in solitude for it. I was okay about it because I had a tunnel they hadn't found yet that was pretty deep, but they somehow patched that up too. I will keep playing this game, I do find it fun occastionally, but I hate how there is a specific way they want you to do everything.

So yu're saying that if I try to frame someone for something then I get in trouble for it, then it's assassin's creed?

i meant the other stuff. if you tie someone up and they are never detected, they might as well be dead.
Having played for a (relatively short) while now, I can see where you're coming from, the teleportation and "left something uncovered for 5 seconds? We're gonna find and take EVERYTHING" thing is pretty annoying. That being said, hiding a guard behind a locked door and just walking out in their uniform is such an obvious (and powerful) solution that if it were possible, you could break out of every prison by just making a couple of hot chocolates on the first day. If you want to see an example of a vaguely similar game that DOESN'T block you from cheesing solutions like that, have a look at "The Masterplan", in that game making a guard-pile, either concious or not, in a room and then throwing away the key seems to work in every single mission.

I wish the game at least told you exactly why you get thrown into solitary, I also wish it came with all crafting recipes unlocked in the list (or at the very least, crafting recipes you already read or actually USED before) and that guards weren't able to uncover all your hidden stuff all across the freaking planet just because a guard saw an open vent in one room.

That being said, I'm glad the "tie him up and leave him in a room, then walk out with his key" thing doesn't work (for aforementioned reasons), although it really could be sold better than "you get teleported into solitary now!"

I don't walk out with his key, I tie him up in a utility room, and he has the utility key, then I escape through the vents, while in the vents I am teleported into solitude because the tied up guard in a rooom where only he had the key to noticed his key was missing. So he took me out of the vents and put me in a solitary cell in and instant.

I... can actually read and understand posts, My point wasn't that the specific example of walking out with the key would make the game too easy, my point was that disabling guards for much longer than possible right now would make the game too easy. There would be absolutely nothing keeping you from disabling every single guard in the prison and putting them behind locked doors without their keys, at which point you could do whatever you wanted and solve every single prison with a single strategy (by making 5 hot chocolates). Just because it makes sense to do it doesn't mean the game would be better if it were possible.
As I already said, it ought to be better presented than teleportation (for example by having the guard call for help and having them gang up on you en masse or something), but that's not the same as enabling the strategy.

Not after 3 seconds of getting into the vent that is right next to them.
