Uplifting, how to preserve a specie's aspect?
when i want to uplift an early species in my empire's system they lose thei aspect too, there's a way to avoid it?

Aspect? you mean their ethics? Or Traits? or something else that I'm just not thinking of right now.

I am curious I haven't tried this yet, so do they gain your traits ?
Thorin May 12, 2016 @ 6:54am
they shouldn't lose they innate trait, that's one of the bonus of uplifting, getting some nice stuff.

If you do Active observation, even for a little while, there seems to be a passive ethics divergence penalty on the race being observed. THen later you decide to uplift them and find they aren't the same people you discovered. Working as designed, I'd say. Particularly since these ethics shifts seem to come with scripted events and quest chains.

guys i didn't say traits XD their physical aspect, i mean before uplift they where some kind of purple furred alien cats, after uplifting now they're idk even know what, some kind of viscid mollusk

So you mean looks XD. Aspect is a fairly general term, means a piece or part of somthing. So while appearance fits that, a trait or ethic set fits that better, hence our confusion XD.

Anyhow, portaits mutation is a bug that seems to affect leaders as well. Never heard of them straight up transmuting to a different species, but then again I've not done uplifting, only infiltration. Its possible that since your messing with their genome, its supposed to change their looks? Unlikely and unintuitive, but its "possible" its working as designed, if the race is primitive enough.

I guess we'll know if one of these hotfixes states "Fixed mutation during uplifting" XD

You had purple cats but they turned into fricking slugs? That's got to be the worst bug ever!
Jami May 12, 2016 @ 9:03am
Yeah that definitely sounds like a bug. The game still has many of them.

You're supposed to be able to shape them ethically, but I don't think turning cats into gelatinous cubes was the intention.
looterino May 12, 2016 @ 9:14am
exactly guys...because i've seen a mutation occured to my own species, the people of an entire planet in my empire bio-engineered themself and became "*speciesname*-superior" but they looks almost identical to my main species, so it's a bug for sure...

my alien cat ç_ç

They turned into a new creature? But... But... cats are awsome!

Poor Alien cats :(
