"The Enchanted" 1.4 Update Changelog
Features
  • Equipment is now enchantable with Enchantments
  • Enchanter NPC is now open for business
  • Redesigned toolbar
  • Illuminated items and bloom
  • New biome has been discovered: Mangroves
  • New family of slimes moved in
  • New higher level treasure chests are now lootable

Changes

Overall I like the update, but there are a few things that I didn't like:

1. I think I liked the old way that accessories worked better. Especially upgrading the boss accessories. And I wish there was a way to construct different accessories based on boss drops. Right now the accessory options feel so much more limited.

2. Enchanting is super random. I feel like I am farming for enchanting drops, and then going to the alter of chaos to gamble at a chance for a better set of enchantments. I would really like an expensive or end game option for reducing the randomness so I can get exactly the kind of enchantments I want. Maybe some method that requires sacrificing a bunch of different enchantment items.

3. There is one enchantment "increase parry based on movement speed" that I find real frustrating, because movement speed enchantments are super rare. And I can't tell if movement speed enchantments even happen on enchantment items that are too high of a level (I think the one movement speed enchantments i found were in the 20-35 range, but i only found about 5 out of maybe hundreds of different enchantments.

4. There is enchantment item clutter. They don't stack for obvious reasons, but I have to individually move them all to a container. And before I had started running every enchantment through the alter of chaos looking for things I wanted I had about ~150 enchantment items.

5. All enchantments sell for 1 gold. This doesn't feel like it matches up with their potential value. Maybe it matches best with their average value (worthless). But if I had the option of buying exactly what I wanted in a custom made enchantment item, I'd consider it worth 1000 auri per enchantment item. It would be nice to see enchantment items sell based on their level, number of effects, and quality level. 1 gold base, 1 gold for every two effects, 1 gold for every 100 quality, and 1 gold for every ten levels. So a lvl 50, 4 effect, quality 250 enchantment item would sell for 1(base)+2(effects)+2(quality)+5(level) = 10 gold.

6. I noticed a bug happening for enchantment items. If I was in a dungeon of hard difficulty that caused monster levels to be above level 50, creatures would sometimes drop enchantment items based on their level. So I would get level 57 enchantment items. These items were broken and had no effects, and they are also useless since the level requirement makes them out of reach.

7. Certain fun builds are much harder to construct with the limitations of enchantments. I like making speed builds (as i mentioned above, find the movement speed bonsues are really difficult). The ninja outfit seems designed for a speed build but gives no buff to movement speed. The only outfit that gives such a buff is the low level 'light' armor. Also a health regeneration tank is a little harder to build with the nerfing of the accessories (upgrading sano's item was the way to do that before)

Is it normal we can't use the controller in the main menu? It works when you're in server and all.

Using DS4 (Not emulating X360)

EDIT: Thank you for fixing the right joystick for DS4 BTW.

    Are players having issues with people not being able to all login for multiplayer, or not being able to login with an existing player, crashes to desktop on server join, but can create a level 1 toon and can join with that one? Started after this update.

    I've been looking into this since my last post. It seems like it actually started happening a bit just before 1.4.4. From what I can tell some of the items are not being synced to the clients in the correct order and the game is crashing since it is not able to find an item that should exist.

    It is really late for me right now so I need to get some sleep (baby dictates sleep schedule sadly) but I will focus on this issue first thing tomorrow. Before I go though I have a few questions that may help out.

    Do you think you could share your save file from the server? (I saw they are saved server side)
    Does this happen every time? Even if you are the first person to join the server?

    Sorry I'm not able to fix this right now! Top of my priority list though!

    We are discussing it here as well. It is the 6th person joining with an established toon that has the issue. They can create a new level 1 and can join as the 6th person. We can provide any files you wish.
