Bought it for -50% a few hours before it went -75%
Is it possible to get a refund? At least the 2€ sent to steam wallet?

There's a tip on main store page: 50% off all catalog titles+amazing new deals every day. It's a sale rule and everyone should know how does it work. I'm 90% sure it will be Thief franchise sale tomorrow.

I did the same mistake and bought missing link at -50% just before the -75%. We should always wait until the end of the deal to see if we can get a better price with another deal of the same title.

You can't get a refund on any steam title.

There aren't that many Square-Enix franchises. When they said there would be daily deals it was quite probable that Deus Ex would eventually be one of them. Should have seen it coming.

Risk? What is this? Gambling?

I'm new to steam, how the hell would I know they did a sale over another sale.

No one expects you to know, you should've read the text-like shapes in the form of words on the home page for the sale. It clearly says all games are 50% PLUS, keyword, PLUS, new daily deal every day.

I did the same thing with the Crysis collection and no matter how much I pleaded with customer support they refused a refund or even steam wallet credits. Normally I wouldn't care so much but they really should honor the lower sale price for customers who bought something less than 24 hours of a new sale. So I told them me and my friends wouldn't be buying anything else from them and we haven't since.

You agreed to pay at that price, with a legally binding contract. Nothing wrong with their practices.

Everyboy did that once... now you know

There absolutely is something wrong that business practice. I bought an xbox from Target years ago and within a week the price dropped $100. I asked if I could be refunded the $100 and without a second thought they refund me the money. No fuss, no muss. Why?... because they have good customer service and they know happy customers will return to buy more stuff. Steam is retarted b/c I spent $100's on there store when I could just as easily get the games through other means and now they've lost my business.

You can actually, although it's rare it happens. It needs to be worded correctly and for a good reason however.
TheRPGunit 26. jan. 2013 kl. 10:11
Have you actually thought about how retarded that is? People are getting mad because they bought something on sale...and they wish they had waited because soon after they purchased a game already on sale..it was discounted more.

Why not just wait a few years to buy it? It'll be even cheaper!

how are you mad at a company that is giving you a deal in the first place.

"boohoo, if I had waited a day, it would have been cheaper. I'm mad at YOU Steam, and not myself. give me a refund."

That is an example of the entitled nature of today's youth. Nobody complaining about that ♥♥♥♥ is out of their teens, I promise you that.

You're missing the point. From a perspective of running a business the customer is always right. You always try to please the customer b/c good customer service is what grows companies, not the product. There are a ton of places that sell video games. Steam isn't special in that regard. Not to mention that when you buy a game of Steam you aren't actually buying it, you're LEASING it. Which is F**ked up to begin with. Steam's customer service is piss poor and there are other companies that deserve my business a helluva lot more.
