I had some trouble getting it not to crash with windows 8.1 x64. In the end what worked for me was: forcing window mode in config.ini (bFullScreen=0) + setting RtMI.exe to compatibility mode XP SP2 + setting rendering to software (in game).
After getting it to run this way, it's possible to return it to full screen.

One thing I noticed is that Steam doesn't account played time with this fix. But then again, that's not a big deal (at least for me).

Auch bei mir stürzt das Spiel ab sobald ich die rechte Maustaste für das Menü benutze. Alle anderen Empfehlungen habe ich bereits durchgeführt. Hat aber nicht geholfen.

I had trouble with saving game. Also it crashed at startup. I changed language to english and now it works fine.

Also this helped me a lot (before this step reinstall game or verify integrity of game cache):
NVIDIA Control Panel -> manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> Add (RtMI.exe) -> OFF Vertical Sync

Changing rendering from Hardware to Software in the game options worked for me.

The game seems to crash every time I right click. There has only been one time I was able to see my inventory. How can I fix this? How do I configure the game?

Does anyone know where the save files are located in Windows? I'm trying to move save files for RTMI and RTMI2 from a Vista laptop to a Win7 desktop.

I had issues on Windows 8.1 (game crashed often, usually when accessing the inventory)

So, this is what I did:

1) Ran the game windowed
2) Disabled hardware rendering (used software, from settings)

After this the game runs smoothly without crashes or glitches.
(Windows 8.1 64 bit, Lenovo Y50-70)

First, it was crashing with right clicks. then I tired to put rendering via software: now it crashes early at launch.
this seemed to be a quite good game, please help us!

Just downloaded and set up is fine with logo pop up then screens white and crashes..? any help? Gona delete and try download again

Nah, still nothing. Have windows 10 btw, can anyone give pointers?
