Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

Is there a reason this is no longer on steam?
I have this game on steam and love that I can install it whenever I want without a disk and all that jazz; however I wanted to buy this game for seme friends to enjoy with me but I noticed that I cannot buy it on steam anymore and was wondering if anyone knew why.

Probably due to licensing, but GoG has it still for digital download http://www.gog.com/gamecard/neverwinter_nights_2_complete

The gog version also has the Mysteries of Westgate add on which the steam version lacks. If you do not have the game I would suggest getting that version, not Steam's.

In fact Mysteries of Westgate was digital download only, and is no longer available. The only way to get it is in NWN2 complete from gog, or a boxed version of NWN2 complete from sites like Ebay or Amazon.

It is currently 6$ on Gamers Gate

Dark Athena was also removed from Steam a few days ago. Seems like Atari and Valve don't get along well.

I was really hoping they would put NWN Plat on Steam as well, I can't find my install dvd for it. But with NWN2 being taken off it seems unlikely.

GameStop offers the full version of NWN 2 (with all three expansion packs). I believe they have the full version of NWN 1 as well as part of their download service if I am not mistaken (I bought both 1 & 2 from them and I checked the expasions I had versus what was listed on Wiki and I seem to have everything listed on the Wiki page).

The complete set is going for $30.

But why does Steam have NW MMORPG?

NWN 1 was never on Steam to begin with?

P.S. "Licensing"? What licensing?? I bet it's some other reason entirely, noone knows.

Because the mmo is still supported and updated regularly... ALSO is a cryptic studios game produced by perfect world entertainment... NOT obsidian Atari or Bioware...

Licensing as in who currantly owns the rights to the game, and therefore the rights to sell the game, when rights change hands due to publishers selling them or being absorbed into other publishers means the game comes down untill the new owners of the license puts the game back up for sale.

Probably because this game is super buggy. Should call it "Neverruns Right 2: Buy the Enhanced Edition".
